I usually go early on Thursday and have had better luck. I have seen that one needs to go earlier each year to get the same relative spot in line. I'm too old to sleep on a sidewalk now, maybe back in my college days but not anymore.

This will be my 13th consecutive year going so I see the same faces when I go now. I have made a lot of friends at the con and its a good time. Frankly I think that the hunt for exclusives tends to ruin it as I miss the days when it was easy to roam around the con carefree. These days the hunt for exclusives can become very draining.

Hanging out and exploring at the con is always the best part. I've met a lot of terrific people at the con and I love feeling at home among "my tribe."

It's harder to get as much time for that now since I have little ones, so I can't stay out as late or go as early but it's still fun.

Does anyone know of a place to park overnight that is relatively close to the convention center?

I'm only going Fri and Sat so I'm not getting a hotel. I plan to wait in line for a Hasbro ticket Friday night, so I need a place to park. Or if anyone is willing to help a fellow collector get a ticket, that can work too! Thanks in advance!

There are a number of parking garages in the downtown area. Unfortunately, the ones closest to the convention center will have sold out their SDCC parking allottments by now. However, if you go a little further out, to the business district on West Broadway, up through Ash street, and between 1st to maybe 6th avenue, (google map it and you will find a square area with a lot of businesses) you will find a lot of business buildings that have parking. You should be able to pay for overnight parking. It's maybe a 5-6 block walk from the convention center, so it's not too far. Unfortunately it will probably be expensive. I'm guessing $30/day or more. A lot of businesses jack up the rates during SDCC.

I do not know if they have overnight parking or not. Most ace parking (the company that runs most of the parking) do not allow it..

Theres is some free parking on Shelter Island. I'm not sure if it's overnight or not, but Shelter island is also on the con shuttle route. That may be an option.

Hmm, this can be helpful. I can't find much info on parking here. One person said there is overnight parking on the street, but that was mentioned in 2008...kind of a long time ago. Will need to dig deeper!

    One week away!!!

Man, now I have to add Mattel to my list of lines with the Batmobile HW from Batman v. Superman. The two-pack on the other hand I can pass on. The Supes looks fine but the Batman I don't think I'm a fan of...
