i'd rather buy hasbro stuff on sale for 50% of the cost of takara. and someone else would rather buy 3rd party stuff for 2x the cost of takara. it's hard to be a snob when you're buying takara instead of 3rd party. someone else is out snobbing you. and someone who wants to hunt for devy? you must be a masochist.

Is this really that scalpable with that price tag and not being a limited release?

At $190 at TRU here in Canada, I'm not even buying one until a sale.

The SDCC Version is $180. So it's anywhere from $30-40 more for the additional paint.

I'd wager Takara doesn't come in less than $200 for theirs. Especially with the additions to tooling for joints and accessories. I'd say $200-$220 is a good estimate.

So you have to wonder if the 3Ps could check-in with updates to the tooling/accessories but come in under the total cost of Takara.

The only way it turns scalpable is if scalpers race out and buy them all up thinking they are. The problem is anybody who wants Devy bad enough to track down a scalper likely already has them sitting in pre-order on Amazon or BBTS.

But not everyone wants to have to bother paying extra for that. If one is gonna go buy reprolablels and 3P upgrade kits for Hasbro, they're better off likely spending the same probable total money on the Takara version in the first place.

With a price match or a 20% off coupon and the 3rd party upgrade set your going to pay less than Takara. Add shipping to the Takara one as well, plus rumor has it the 3rd party upgrade improved upon Takara's elbow joints so 3rd parties are better. I don't put stickers on my TF so no need for Reprolabels in my world.

Granted, I see your point, but not everyone is going to be buying it via price matches or 20%-off coupons.

I really want to where you got that price from?

I think it's a bragging thing that just that.

    Please don't. I like my articulation. :redface2:

Rumors and 3rd Parties aren't usually a good mix. I'd rather pay more now and get something good enough than wait forever for something perfect that may never come.

(Besides, any add-on kit for Hasbro's Devy will also work for Takara's, as well, as they are elbows aside the same exact guy.)

So where is everyone getting these magical 20% off coupons? Is it from the rewards points?

Just cancelled my BBTS preorder. I'm ok waiting if the Takara price is within reason (my idea of reasonable), but if I come across a deal or a coupon for the Hasbro version I'll most likely cave.

Im with you on that. Im switching my toydojo preorder to takara. But if i see hasbro for around $120 i will cave in quick! I was all in for hasbro but the retooling and proper hand and tread colors plus weapons and visor gimmick. That sold me

Still deciding, but I think there will be plenty of inventory for the Hasbro version, Amazon may drop the price to $130-$140 a month later. But the wait for a TT version is killing, as long as it will not exceed $250, I will pre-order the TT version once it is online. Please Takara, all we need is a date and a price!

well, just curious because maybe I'm missing all the facts. the big issue is the elbows. oh, and little bit more paint somewhere. Somewhere in all the comments/rants etc. plus pictures, I only know or see that only 2 of them Don't have bending elbows....correct? I'll stick with the Hasbro one, being the cheapest...it will probably stay in the box for awhile if not forever....ya, what fun is that? Well, that's me. If it does come out of box, it will probably be in it's full combined mode most the time
