The end of that film almost felt like Michael Bay had learned a little something about making a film, where we almost cared about characters, and as Optimus' final words rang out, one could just start to imagine what new Transformers would be coming, when he said, 'we are here...we, are waiting...'

...AND THEN THEY THREW IT ALL AWAY!!!

Then in DOTM they realized this and tried hella hard to make a good film. Of course, they didn't really succeed and they pretty much just said fuck it with aoe.

I hate those 'awww, we messed up' apology films. Dreamworks did that with Shrek, after they botched 'Shrek the Third,' and then tried to make amends with 'Shrek 4Ever After.'

In truth, Sam in the first TF I saw, as a good jumping off point. He could have grown up and matured through the next 2 films...*bursts out laughing* but that could never happen, because Bay doesn't believe that characters mature!!

But, but, but... The Decepticons kept calling him boy until he managed to kill their second in command. Isn't proving your masculinity through bloodshed mature?

hahahaha yes, obviously. You know what I find funny. Is I just realized that Megatron and Sam never actually interact with each other after ROTF. It seems after Megatron blasted him he lost his grudge. It makes me wonder if Megatron even realized sam survived his fusion cannon.

Soundwave and Laserbeak obviously knew. They probably would've told him but I do find it amusing to think Megatron might've never realized Sam came back to life.

I know this is about the film and not the toy line. But if you're a kid at heart still like me, tell me you eyes didn't light up seeing this in June of 2007! [IMG]

Yeah, and by the time July 3 came, those shelves were bone dry. And then Hasbro had some major shipping issues on top of that.

I saw it with my brother. We both grew up with Transformers. It was one of the few movies where I wanted to go back and watch it again right when it was done. It was just a really cool movie with so many "wow" moments....the first time Blackout transformed, meeting all the Autobots in the alley, the highway battle. A little of that magic has worn off, but I still enjoy watching the first movie and remembering that feeling. I don't get that same feeling with the sequels.

Damn I was in 5th grade when the 2007 movie line came out. I remember my first figure was Concept Camaro Bumblebee. Those were the days.

Also I Recently bought some 2007 figures off of TFsource and Amazon and boy do I love them. Got Thundercracker, Blackout, Wreckage, Landmine, Longarm, Dreadwing, and leader Brawl

It really was. I watched it again for the first time since I was a kid a few years ago and could damn near repeat it word for word. I also fondly remember 2007 movie and being so excited for a couple of years before the release with all the trailers etc. The movie came out on my birthday :) . Was a great birthday. M wife stood with me in line with all the other geeks, although she did limit my fandom to just a tshirt :p

The rest of the movies are good, not great. Although the more times I've seen them, the more I really like parts of them. They are really drawn out, at least to me. edit down to the bots. That's all I need. Ginormous transforming robots blowing stuff up, with megatron and starscream screaming for more energon, gon, gon, gon.

    yeah that was crazy.

It took me a whole summer to find a new '08 Camaro Bumblebee.

Remember when we used to actually go out and actively search for Bumblebee toys and couldn't find them.

2007 was the pinnacle of the franchise. it was a lot of fun. even though we still get nice things each year...it's never as much fun as it was then.

I think the whole thrill of the new movie coming out along with the toyline took me back 20 years. As soon as I could get my hands on em I had Ironhide and blackout on my desk at work!

It definitely was one of my first returns to the toy aisle to buy Transformers in a long, long time. I never had the core Autobots as a kid, but6 when the film came out, I got all 5 of them, though did have to pace myself, and wait for the Concept Bumblebee.

I do remember seeing the film before leaving on vacation in San Diego, and then when visiting out there, going to a local theater near my Uncle's place, to see it again. Both memorable experiences. Seeing the 07 film in San Diego, brought back a few memories, as I saw the 1986 film in one of its surrounding towns when I was 6.

The film had a believability that I rank up there with Iron Man, and Jurassic Park, in how the effects were used.

Still love the moment where the group transforms in-camera, as Sector 7 is approaching. We see Bee front-and-center, transforming into his vehicle mode...and peeling out! If I was 6 years old, I'd believe this film in a heartbeat!
