Finished this kinda late so not much light for good photos, will upload more tomorrow. For now a little explanation: Eyes painted. Silver stripes stripped. Paint removed from yellow arm arrows (which are transparent plastic), red painted on underside of them. Silver paint removed from shins. Thighs and pelvis painted white.
How did you strip the paint from the yellow forearm bits? I painted over mine but I'm less than happy with the results. Yours have the exact look I want.
What kind? Sorry for my ignorance. I know there's different kinds but with my luck I'll melt the damn things.
I used Isopropyl. Beware of leaving transparent plastic parts to soak though, it can destroy the plastic (I learnt that the hard way from an MP Bumblebee project). I just rubbed the pieces with a combination of different brushes (tooth brush / soft shoe brush), dipping the piece and the brush in alcohol. Main ingredient - lots of elbow grease!
Thanks! This has been so helpful - it's working so far. Most of the paint has come off, but there is still a little to go. I soaked them for 5 minutes at a time and then scrubbed them with a toothbrush before I ran out of time to work on them. I'll finish up in a couple of days.
for clear parts, I found polishing it with toothpaste then a dip in future floor acrylic restores the transparency.
