I respect your opinion but I for one don't want the story to be simple.I want it to be complex and epic as IMO again the previous movies had.

I agree. Sometimes people act as if it's an either or sort of deal. Either you get a good critical response or you get a huge box office run. Either you have the cutting edge of special effects or you have compelling characters.

But there are too many examples out there of movies that do story and character well while making money. We were told old fans don't matter because nostalgia isn't going to pack the theater yet Jurassic World was packing theaters in no small part to nostalgia. We were told the domestic market was dead yet we've seen huge domestic box office hauls. I think it's time Paramount reevaluated it's formula because other studios seem to be tapping things Paramount is missing.

"Either something can be good or fun."

Fun movies are more fun and more consistently fun when good.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to compare the JP and TF franchises. They've got nothing in common.

Also, any new Jurassic Park movie was going to make a ton of money. The first film was a Spielberg masterpiece and they've waited over a decade since the last movie (which was pretty bad).

One of the best statements I've heard in this part of the forum.

Except they're massive blockbusters using pulpy sci-fi source material as an excuse for big set piece action sequences.

Large tent pole summer action movies for both studios. Both aging franchises looking to climb back to their former glory. Humans tampering with a science they maybe shouldn't be tapering with. Something large causing loads and loads of destruction. Special effects driven films looking for that wow moment everyone will be talking about. Toy lines to cash in on the popularity of the film among kids.

Lots of things both films have in common.

I finally watched JW. I liked the final dinos fight. I would like to see Grimlock versus another dino Transformer or some other beastformer.

Yeah, based mostly on the fact that it's in the Jurassic Park franchise. I also enjoyed AoE more than this film since everything wasn't so predictable, the action was superior and the characters were more likeable.

But hey, I liked Jurassic World, I just didn't feel the need to say "Transformers should learn from this".

    Yeah probably.

I mean, the action in these movies is shit but at least they have a generically "cool" aesthetic behind them. Some wow factor. Jurassic World's CG camera whips around CG environments, as disjointed and nonsensical as the action in these movies, but it never even achieves the meta enjoyment of being "insane".

Drama comes from clarity and emphasis; action is pure, cinematic drama. And neither Michael Bay or Colin Treverow display skillful use of clarity and emphasis, but at least when Michael Bay swirls the camera around for forty minutes he throws enough shit in the frame to be impressive if nothing else.

So...you're telling me you enjoyed Aoe more then huge dino battle in the end of JW. Like i get if you hate jp3 fight (can you even call that a fight), but saying Transformers has a better fight scene (maybe the forest battle but that is still to be debated) then the JW final battle with the T. Rex vs Indominus is purely wrong. But hey that is just my opinion so whatever.

If anything Jurassic World is learning from Transformers! Don't you think it's a funny coincidence that AOE had Dinosaurs in it, and lo and behold just a year later Jurassic world also features Dinosaurs!! I also noticed Jurassic world is filmed in the same fancy technicolor that AOE used!
