Can't sleep, Pearl will eat me... Can't sleep, Pearl will eat me... The Ronaldo episode had me worried Sworn to the Sword would've been the only AMAZING episode. Thankfully my suspicious was dead wrong! This is easily my favorite show on now and in a long time, and I'm so glad I've managed to stay current on it and aren't just discovering it years after the fact. (season DVDs and toys now, please!) One critique I have is that it seems a bit... flighty at times. There'll be a lot of calm everyday life episodes and then suddenly they HAVE to find whatever.
Greg is easily one of the best cartoon dads ever. The Steven Bomb overall was fantastic. I enjoyed just about every episode. I really enjoyed Rising Tides, Crashing Skies the most. I know a lot of people don't like Renaldo and I frankly think he's hilarious. I loved how poorly edited his video is...just like it was used in Windows Movie Maker. The teasing with Lapis though...probably the only thing I didn't care for. Connie training to aid Steven in the way of the sword is pretty awesome. Steven and Connie are probably one of the best child couples I've seen in years. Loved the song in that episode too.
One of the great things about this show is that even characters that start of irritating end up being likable. Like Mayor Dewey and Renaldo. Renaldo still irritates me sometimes but its in a sympathetic, relatable way, I like that. I thought the Lapis scenes were incredible, like you were in their head while they are battling for control of Malachite, that was intense shit. I can get why people who wanted more Lapis were annoyed by it though.
Currently full of pity for the folks still desperately trying to claim Ruby and Sapphire's relationship is platonic, as well as Pearl's feelings for Rose.
There's people still doing that? Ruby and Sapphire in particular is ridiculous. Considering one of the writers came right out and said they're in a romantic relationship.
I caught up on this show with the first Steven Bomb and loved the second, especially "We Need To Talk". Just such an amazing show with an endearing cast of colorful characters. Eagerly awaiting the third bomb coming out in July
The Thirst is Real! Yeah I can't believe people are in denile. Lars is like the only character I don't care for in the show. I'm so looking forward to that.
I thought the first few episodes of this season were just okay since it felt like we've already seen what they had to offer in previous eps. The Greg and Lapis episodes were fantastic though.
Ah. Reading up a little on what it is, brings up some interesting things. It's the birthstone of August, which it shares with peridot. That can't possibly be a coincidence. It also seems to have ties with Greek and Roman mythology, being used to make talismans with images of Mars and Hercules engraved on them, which soldiers wore into battle. Maybe she'll be some sort of super weapon Peridot makes as part of her fusion experiments.
People will go to incredible lengths to deny same sex representation. There are people out there saying Ruby and Sapphire are like siblings, which is creepy as fuck. I can't speak for any of you but I've never licked tears off my brothers face.
Didn't Steven state that Ruby and Sapphire are in a relationship in canon. So why are people still denying it? Actually I know the answer to that.
Yes he did (episode Love Letters), its 100% canon romantic relationship but that still won't stop people from denying it.
I dunno if they are ready to spring (another?) diamond on us yet. The prevailing fan theories are that Sardonyx is Centipeetle, or Peridot/??. July can't come soon enough.
