I was excited when I heard about bruticus but after seeing it PASS! I am dissapoint. At least we get some new molds?

 

Everybody was already conditioned to accept ever since Alpha Bravo came up that he will eventually be Vortex down the line. AB > Blades > Vortex. I think nobody expected Blast Off to be a remold of an Aerialbot since they already came to the conclusion that AB > add some wings-remove rotors > Blast Off.

 

by your logic, every remold hasbro has ever made is not a real character. none of the seekers are real characters. none of the cars. oh, but tf fans don't use logic. i'm surprised 3rd party haven't gone out of business with the way hastek has been killing it with cw. but i guess there will always be pigheaded fans who love wasting money. they used quick slinger because he is more rounded giving him a more shuttle look. also being white makes him much easier to paint. if you want to give him firefly's head, do it. if you want to wait for takara, do that. if you want to wait for a 3rd party, do that. you could also repurpose him as a decepticon jet and use him for galvatronus like some have mentioned. it's not the end of the world. some of you are such spoiled brats it's insane. hastek doesn't have to give us anything and they give us all this amazing stuff and you guys just shit on them every time. pathetic.

 

They did..They gave us Slingshot masquerading as a Combaticon instead of Blast Off... Now, HasTak...a real Blast Off please... They very least a new damn head and more rounded plane nose...seriously...

I can't say I'm disappointed with Bruticus. We all knew it was going to happen. Trying to deny it will not help anyone.

I'm surprised that Blast Off is a Firefly repaint. Not even a new head. I was honestly expecting a remold of the helicopter, seems like a much better fit (remove the chopper component, put wings on the arms, redo the tail section as boosters). I'm surprised that they got Swindle from Rook, I would have expected an Offroad repaint. It looks good though. Shame that only Rook gets the 5MM fist ports. If anything, I would have expected Brawl from Rook. Vortex is on point with what I expected, so no comments. Onslaught is pretty much what I expected to see, interesting that they reversed him and now he has no cab. Having Shockwave as a gun is a great add on. Would have hated to see them shoe horn some random character into the Combaticons just to have a motorcycle chest.

I feel bad for the CW Decepticons. Makes me wish the fan built was a Decepticon, just to balance things out. Every single voyager is a retool, and only two teams out of the 6 we've seen are accounted for. I guess that'll change w/ Devastator, but the size scale is crazy.

 

A new head for Blastoff would have been nice.

A new head while using the Airraid mold would have been better.

A whole new mold would have been best, so let's see what TakTom has in store for these guys.

 

everyone complains about not enough decepticons. so what do they do? they vote for 7 new autobots. ahahaha. you have noone to blame but yourselves.

 

Combaticons were my biggest want and Hasbro decided that they were the least important. So very freaking irked by this.

Least important how?
* Mold re-uses didn't get a single change, not one beyond decos that don't meet the levels of the orginals. Which means....
* No new heads. Seriously Hasbro? Every single autobot that is a reuse got a new head.

I am not a Takara fanboy, but in this case and because Bruticus is my favorite combiner, I'm almost definitely going to import the better TT version that will have 1) more paint and 2) a proper space shuttle.

Blastoff is a joke it won't put me off this but I'll wait for TT version nevertheless.
and yeah I don't think the figure on display shows the final colors, I expect the chestshield to be grey and the tires on onslaught black.

Plus, I dunno if anyone mentioned it here but just noticed that swindle/hound mold is a retool of rook.. well played..

 

I´m glad Blast-Off is a jet. It makes zero sense to have a non-weaponized vehicle in a team that is called Combaticons. Last time I checked, space shuttle aren´t armed craft.

 

So, a Warhammer 40k warship?

I agree the repaint is kinda lazy, but it´s kinda fun watch the meltdown it´s causing. I sometimes forgets that there are adults posting here.

 

Interesting choice of using Quicksling as Blast Off. I would think the head of Alpha Bravo ultimately suits Blast Off better.

 

Are you blind? I count three new heads among the Combaticons.

 

yes, there will be a running change that will turn all the olive parts on onslaught grey.

the intention is that because of the nature of Bruticus and onslaught, you cant get the colors quite right in one go on the budget that hasbro has and the nature of the way the sprues work with this particular figure.

the first version (the olive green one) is meant to be ONSLAUGHT color accurate while sacrificing Bruticus's accuracy, while the other one (the grey one) is meant to be BRUTICUS color accurate while sacrificing Onslaught's accuracy.

I suspect that the eventual Takara one will work around this because of their bigger budget and love for paint and that theirs will be both Onslaught AND Bruticus accurate.

 

Because Airraid is my favorite CW jet mold....duh.    

 

I want these guys so bad. Bruticus is my favorite combiner.
