Weren't we also supposed to have a Kickback Insecticon to round out the original set? Could then be redone as Ransack at a later date.

Not too far of a stretch to see a Barrage out of CW Bombshell, either.

Agreed on Gnaw. I thought he and Kickback were slated for later this year. If not, I'll be a sad Panda.  

 

Pipes looks like the best use of the mold so far; batter than Huffer

Chop Shop is cool but not for me. Having him hold the small Targetmaster Chop Shop would be fun.

Buzzsaw is interesting. May get this one since I didn't get FOC Buzzsaw. Laserbeak redcoe guaranteed yes?

Shockwave looks fantastic. Definitely will get to go with Bruticus.

Wreck - Gar looks not - good. Doesn't really fit the mold. Who is he going to combine with anyway?

 

Wrek-Gar could go on a TT Defensor, doesn't fit, but hey. I see him as more a stand alone to go with S3 legends characters.

 

Buzz saw is horrible, really disappointed there, but not sure what an appropriate alt mode would be (at least it's marginally better then the horrible FOC data discs.).

No new head on Pipes = no sale. Bad enough Huffer is an Orange Prime, I can't condone Pipes as a Blue Prime with a Huffer head.

Shockwave... Well, he looked so much cooler in my head. He's probably alright, just not quite what I expected.

Wreck Gar.... Has an impressive goatee. And an excellent deluxe mold, so I will be passing on this.

So, maybe Shockwve is the only thing I'm likely to get in these waves. Oh, and Chop Shop, he looks great actually.

Here is a pic of shockwave next to the rodimus repaint from blackjack.

 

Its a render from the 3d model they'll be using for production so they don't have to wait on prototyping to show you the toy.

It'll look pretty similar

 

Shockwave looks nice and is a simple concept that you would hope they could handle.

The rest don't look very good. Buzzsaw, for being a new mold, frankly looks pretty crappy. I like the idea but he looks like he belongs in RiD 2, not Classics.

Pipes is an abomination. Thankfully, I have a great Classics Pipes thanks to X-Transbots.

For $10, there has been a whole lot of suck in this assortment since the Combiner Wars thing started.

 

Rewind, Ravage and Stripes are in the next waves.

 

im still trying to figure out what buzzsaw turned into besides a bird.

 

In the Not-Rid comics he and Lasorbeak have wheels on their wings, and Frenzy and Rumble turn into bikes similar to groove.
It looks here like he's a Datapad(Iphone) and some sort of forklift thing!


Calling it now, this will interact with an upcoming TITAN WARS Soundwave.  



Buzzsaw's modes are just so crazy And cool I love them. Glad to see that he is getting released by Lasorbeak to, always felt like he didn't get enough love.

 

Nice to see how they already cheapened out on Shockwave. The lighter purple accents / clear plastic which distinguish his hand and cannon from the rest of the arms and which are placed on the chest and kneecaps are completely gone. I honestly wondered if he even had a hand and a cannon by looking at the painted prototype.

Waiting for the Takara version it is. Let's hope the chest is too small for the ridiculous sticker and they have to put it on his back or something.

Cool that he turns into a holdable gun though, he'll work well with Leader Megatron. More of a rifle than a pistol but hey.

 

That Buzzaw-thingie looks horribly bad to me. Then again I don't like "real-gear" like alt-modes in my Generations/Classics/Combinerwars/etc set-up so I don't now if i could have accepted it in that collection anyway.

If Huffer had a new head I would probably have been fine with him, too bad.

I wish Chop Shop had those antennae retooled into his mandibles, not that I would have expected anything to be retooled on him (or even expected him at all). So I am still happy about him and he does look great! I always though that the famous Insecticons more colorful siblings were cool so I'll get him without a doubt. I hope Bombshell into Barrage happens too.

Shockwave looks GREAT! The pics of him from the show are with see-through legs and arms though. I'm hoping (and expecting) an opaque version down the line from either Hasbro or TakTomy and that I will buy.

Wreck-Gar looks ok, well under the circumstances I guess. I don't like the freakishly long legs on that mold. The head looks good though!

I'm glad for a new Buzzsaw toy. I always preferred him above Laserbeak.

However, this new toy looks like a turd. I don't like it at all.

Also Pipe's head, etc etc. Everything else is great. I will buy it all, regardless.

No, what it comes down to is that BotCon only matters to the hardcore whales. If Hasbro wants actual media attention, they reveal at SDCC or NYCC. This is the way of the future, going forward. You'll note that IDW and Hasbro Studios didn't even bother coming to BotCon this year. Those are SDCC panels now.

Sky Lynx was revealed at BotCon because A - the BotCon crowd gives a damn about Sky Lynx, and B - it was the concession to BC. We will learn about Titan Wars, Computron, etc. at SDCC, where the real money is made and the real media attention is focused.
