You can see in the teaser that it's the same Mixmaster. This type of cement mixer is very common in New England. They don't have the old style ones around here, but I've been told they're common in California.

Same Mixmaster based on the photo.

Yeah that exclusive was extremely similar, but having both there are some slight differences.

Yeah I don't expect it to have nearly as much paint as the SDCC version. But some other changes. I'm hoping for a gray face with a silver forehead personally.

It isn't a thing. There isn't anything stating Hasbro and Takara has to release things different than their counterparts. Movie toys and some of the Masterpiece are identical / near identical. They do try to not repeat any exclusives though.

Defensor is the end of November, so maybe the end of December? I would almost think Devastator might be in between, but if he uses the same numbering as the others he'd be UW-04 (unless that ends up with the Optimus combiner). So logically it'd be after Defensor if that's the case.

I'm getting all 3, and any others they plan. Though buying the normal Hasbro one may be difficult after owning the SDCC one. As it will seem pretty plain. At least it will have the cartoon head. Then once Takara's comes out, the normal Hasbro one will probably seem very superfluous. :D

We also get different things because Hasbro has more restrictive safety laws than Japan.

Probably not. My days of photo taking are mostly over. Someone like Alfes will likely beat me to it.

You don't see this factor too much anymore as the engineers have figured out ways around most issues. Also, some things are not laws but are taken as extra precautionary steps. I'd be careful assuming everything is done because it would be illegal otherwise - this often misrepresents things and causes confusion when we see other companies do different things and wonder why. Hasbro is extremely conservative and cautious by choice.

My only real concerns about ordering UW Devy is that it's an awful large box to be sent from China...Not that I really care much about the box condition, but my Encore Devy had some crush damage, mainly due to the practice of shipping the box in another pefect cardboard box without packing material in between. So I hope whatever company I ship through doesn't do this. A small MP car bot, no problem usually. UW Devy? Big.

And if there's QC problems, about the best they'll do is give a partial refund, I'd say. I will most likely get a Hasbro one just in case...especially if they sell em at Costco this Christmas.

These G1 guns are awesome, by the way. I'm dying for a pic of UW Devy!

    I have a theory!
Takara is releasing all these teasers and stringing us along because...

THEY SOMEHOW FOUND A WAY TO MAKE HIM AWESOME!!

    ...anything is possible! :)

How well do people think this will fit in with Masterpiece?
Should I wait for Fans Toys to tackle Devastator, or is that just a pipe dream?

Like the look of this from what I've seen so far. Kinda makes me regret picking up Green Giant at the end of last year.

I think it's personal preference, but from what I've seen I shall definitely be picking up the Takara version for my MP collection.

Individual 'bots are just a little taller than MP carbots, and Devastator himself is 1.5 feet, meaning that MP Prime comes up to just under his hips.

With all of the added fixes that the UW version gives us, I think this is the best we're going to see of a possible MP Devastator in a long while.

Of course, I could be wrong. :D
