Just when I think I've made my decision to get the Badbugs, Fans Toys reels me back in.... Tis a shame they couldn't do the color swap gimmick though.

 

I am down on Badcube's bugs, it's true. I was down on them before anyone else announced Insecticons. To be honest I was actually worried no one else would, because I was down on them enough that I wasn't going to buy them. They don't look right to me at all.

That said, I am incredibly impressed by FTs Insecticons as well. I know, I know, I'm a FTs fanboy. But Grenadier surpasses my expectations. There are certain figures that, when you see them, are better than you imagined they would be. MP-10 had that effect on me. Apollyon did (aesthetically, anyway). Stomp did. And so did Grenadier.

That's why, for me personally, it's not a close race.

 

Dammit, still can't decide on the gray or purple.

It does make the Insecticons more cohesive.

 

I'm fully satisfied. Never doubted FT and still all in for their Insecticons. Grey chest all the way!

 

I wonder why they didn't show the grey version in insect mode? I would've liked to have seen that.

 

Same here, although it doesn't effect my decision in the slightest since I'm only interested in toon accurate bot modes. So the bugs will be in bot mode 99% of the time just like my Dinobots. I'm one of those wierdos.

 

How close is that purple and yellow to Badcube's set? I ordered them before these new colored pics came in and I'm liking the look of Grenaider I still like Hypno but he's always felt the weakest in robot mode out of the three.

If they paint the head black on the on the fig with toy coloration (and still have translucent chestpiece) they are BOTH bought.

So with the early bird specials through CP or BBTS for these guys,how does it work? Id like to order the toy versions of these and the early bird preorders don't specify which Id be ordering.

 

Captured Prey lists them separately for sure, but the early bird ran out on Grenadier already.
