Sooo I waited three months to paint Rung because I was scared of messing him up, but fixing details aside, man I am happy.

The orange paint marker I used is actually nearly SAFETY orange bright, but it leaves a nice shine I just gotta seal everything now :O

    Looks great!

What does this guy feel like out of the box? I've gotten a few Shapeways pieces, but nothing this big. Rung here looks pretty smooth in some pictures, but way coarse in some. I'd love to have a Rung, but I don't think I've got the patience to sand down the entire thing to smooth it out for painting.

This Rung looks great! I wonder if dipping him in Future floor polish would help to smooth out the grittiness of the WSF? And then painting?

Mine was not bad actually, when you get larger pieces in White Strong flexible, the fuzzy/graininess isn't as noticeable.
As for how smooth mine looks, (he looks almost perfect in some places) That's because I did a VERY quick/light sand to get off any loose bits, coat of primer, another sand, and another coat of primer, followed by a neat sand. I also filled some airholes in with airdry modeling clay/paper clay which helped with smoothness.

I concur. It's unbelievably cool to see people taking what I've modelled and taking it to the next level. :D

Hot diggity damn, I like! :D

    Ain't it just.

    Rung's alt mode:

    :p

Why are the words "Safety Dance" now swimming through my head? :p

I've been hearing that does work, aye.

He's done an awesome job on the painting, eh? :D

This is the only major issue I've found with the full figures (and yes, Drift is on the way): I daren't offer them in polished form, because there's a lot of delicate parts in there (on Rung, mainly... those eyebrows...) and a ton of sprues to hold everything together, so I'm not entirely sure that the kit would make it through the polishing process intact.

Looks amazing! :D  Maybe some sanding with a few thousand grit sandpaper i use on my Gunpla models and then some priming before paint to smooth him out...^^ Should I order one now or is there an update coming?

I've only just seen this, after I replied to yer message on Shapeways. :p

Nope, other than making him available in full colour plastic (lord knows when that material will be available, though), Rung is completed and all done as far as updates go. :)

Have you thought about an alternative head without the 'glasses'?
