The size is perfect!! I was worried they'd all be closer to Cement Mixer in size. Any doubts I had for these guys are gone.

I love the boxset, but I love having the option to be able to replace figures if something were to happen to them. Loving this guy more and more, honestly.

Just as long as Guardia scales with CW's give or take a few centimeters I'll be happy.

Knowing MT track record, it really does scale. Giant is great with them.

I contacted MT about whether or not there'd be Guardia giftset. Unfortunately, this is the response I got.

IF one does eventually happen, guess it'll just be one I don't have cause I most certainly am not double dipping a $400+ set.

You can always sell the others once a giftset is confirmed.

What you really should have asked, is will Rover be white or grey? :D

MT could make everyone happy by putting Hot Spot in a gift box that the others can fit into. Like TFCC does sometimes.

Then you'd have boxes that take up a ton of space, unless you threw away the 4 limb-boxes. (because it'd be a full giftset box PLUS individual boxes, for the team). And shipping costs would go up, as it then becomes a "dimensional weight" vs actual weight. (you could literally ship nothing but air, but if it's in a big box, it'll cost a lot to ship)

That'd be wasteful of both space and materials. If anything, they should sell a big gift-set-box seperately, kinda like they are for replacement Nemesis boxes. If you want one--fine, get it at cost. But don't force a big unwieldy space-wasting box on those that don't need it.

(I'm going to be moving, and am packing up my stuff---and my MMC Feralcons take up a LOT more space than they should, as their boxes are needlessly huge---I can't imagine how big a Feral Rex giftset box would be)

The storage/space issue while valid isn't part of the problem for those complaining for a box set it seems. If MT did make the set box, it would make sense to trash the other boxes to me. Also, a good number of vendors probably will be shipping Hot Spot for free. (I think he will be $150)

I don't think that would fly. It doesn't seem like many are buying the Nemesis boxes.(not because of the cost, more of a customer service point but that's off-topic...) I don't believe the box has to be that much bigger. Just make slots for the others in alt mode. I think the reason to go to separate releases is to recoup costs. The cost of the boxes is minor to chance of bringing in profit faster.

MMC's boxes are too damn big. I get the "presentation" factor but they are ridiculous.

Toyworld are setting the current standard for pompously-overblown stupid packaging. The upcoming Grimlock is in something sized to transport a fridge. You could fit 5 or 6 of Evilastar in His/her box. Less is sometimes more.

I'm ok with not having to have a Quantron box for this guy, for now.

i'm glad they're doing individual figures, i can't justify 500 all at once for a combiner. I like to spread it out over 6 months. This will probably be my first make toys buy.

I certainly see it as more manageable as well. I was expecting a box set by mid- October to November, but this will work. The one major issue is waiting to see if combined mode has problems.

I think the main reason they're doing separate releases is due to the initial problems with quantron. They had to have spent a ton on shipping all those replacement parts separately. This way they'll be able to include them with later figures if needed, saving them money and hopefully by time they get to their hotspot all problems will be addressed, and won't require any fixes beyond that.

To counterbalance that, all of the issues with Quantron were mostly combined mode locking issues, so having them all in hand actually helped find those combined instabilities, these won't be found on Guardia until after hot spots release.
