The extra detailing is great but that purple chrome is just a crime. So utterly awful. If it didn't have the chrome I'd be on board, but I'll just get the retail version and Reprolabel it. Really a shame.

We should find out in the next week or so at the Tokyo Toy Fair, hopefully.

There's already a couple of 3P upgrades doing the rounds, including a 'fix' for Devastator's arms to allow the treads to stay attached, and new arms for Scrapper. I've no doubt more will follow, and wouldn't be surprised at a Reprolabels set, too.

Indeed, you can get Herc from a few sellers for that much. This one looks alright...but looks so squished?

Indeed, happen$ every year with the SDCC exclusives - crazy :jawdropper: :scalper  pre-order listings at your own risk / YMMV because nobody has it in hand yet anyway. Sigh.

Also looking forward to Tokyo Toy Show reveal next weekend.

All I can say is that SDCC Devy makes the regular release look horrible.

It's amazing what a little more paint can do for a figure.

TFWiki have just posted up a comparison image of what I was saying last month about what Hasbro were trying to make the interior look like.

I saw this toy in-box in person at Toyfair in March (because we will be getting it released at a convention in Australia in September by Hasbro), but I wasn't allowed to say anything about it before it was officially revealed.

The toy is "pretty" in person from all the bling, but I was more impressed with the display of it in-box than the toy itself, as it was just like SDCC Metroplex - not different enough to be worth the higher price over the regular version.
Buy it if you can afford it, but probably not if you get the cheaper regular version.

The chrome isn't looking as horrible as, say, Gen Jetfire's. But being chrome, it'll chip something fierce. The extra paint apps when compared to the regular retail, is nice, but I was surprised how much the reg retail had. I like the sdcc's painted treads and tires, and the yellow/black stripes. Other than that, I prefer the cartoon head with silver forehead and visor. So as tempted as I'd be to get the sdcc devastator, I won't be too upset if I can't get ahold of it. I can just get the retail version and some reprolabels. And paint some rims and treads. Even if I did get ahold of SDCC, id be parts swapping with the retail toy to get his toon head

That's disturbingly cool. Great touch by the box designer.

Well now. I'm torn, love the paint apps (or stickers, who knows) of the SDCC, but prefer the visor or the retail version.

Somthing tells me I should wait and see what the Takara-Tomy version will look like before taking the plunge one one of the 3 variants.

    [

    MSRP: $149.99 (USA)

With coupons, lower. If TRU carries it, they usually do 20% coupons throughout the year.
Online wise, HTS will be cheaper, cause they have 15% off (or more) from time to time.[/QUOTE]

    thanks for letting me know

Agesthreeandup.com was listing August availability back when I put in my USD$159.95 pre-order in late March. While I can still look up the preorder, they pulled the Devastator page not long afterward.

    Paint>Visor for me.

I'm betting someone comes along and makes a 3P head or something anyways.

    Oh my god...you're right.

SDCC has a better shade of green but the retail version has no chrome and a visor.

Same...hopefully Takara has the articulation we really desire.

I love how he's just sort of leaning in towards the camera in the boxed pic.
