Whaaaat? no way that gunmetal gray on Bombshell is accurate to anything...

Well I'll be damned! I didn't remember Bombshell looking that terrible in the cartoon. G1 Toy deco/Hasbro deco all the way for me.

 

I love the paint but hate the scan logos. Maybe Reprolabels will do Chest Stickers

 

I for one was glad to see the Bombshell 'toon scheme. I already have the Hasbro release, so best of both worlds for me. I do plan on taking off the TA logo. I don't mind the indentation on the chest, I can work with it.

 

Takara ruined these figures by remolding the chest area to accommodate those HORRIBLE stickers. I would have gotten these in a heartbeat were they straight redecos of the Hasbro ones. But no, Takara had to remold the chest area. Nuff said.

 

Yeah I had thought they would just put a sticker on them, but then they go ahead and retool them to have a giant circle on the front, just molded right in. While I was looking forward to the Japanese version of Shrapnel at least since the yellow on him looks close to the yellow on the domestic version of Bombshell and the sticker would be removable meaning I could just put a silver trimmed Decepticon logo there, I'll then have this lovely giant cirle patch molded in just like I didn't want it. Why Takara, why did you have to do this to a great mold? It's a bit different with the new RID/Adventure toys since those already have the circles in there as part of the design, but now you just ruined a beautiful mold with this crap. 9_9

 

They did it because they released it in a line where they wanted to make sure those stickers stayed on, just like in the 80's with rub signs.

 

It's really not close at all. The tak versions are like a metallic, brown-yellow. So probably a good thing you didn't buy him for that reason.

 

i totally smell a platinum edition with chrome at some point in the distant future (Christmas 2016 maybe)

 

I'm just bypassing these Insecticons and getting the BadCube versions to put in my Classics collection. Sure, they're supposed to be MP sized, but screw it, they're awesome either way.

 

Ooof.... I've got these sitting in my POL at BBTS, but seeing those molded circles is making me think I might cancel them while I still have time. That looks pretty awful.

 

I own the figures and peeled off the stickers (which were very sticky and hard to peel off).

I can confirm that they did indeed remold them and put in circular indents, which look awful. I'm also going to have to add repro Decepticon logos now since they have no actual painted logos on them.

 

I must say, the circle insignia is the stupidest thing to come out in a long time. Even dumber than action masters or the inhumanoids.

 

Stickers smickers. I like em Takara coloring!  

 

Those giant stickers really hurt these figures, IMHO. Even worse is the fact that they actually molded the figure just to have a place to fit the stickers... You can remove them, I suppose, but then you've got that indentation... blech.

 

Bombshell is...over painted?

Shrapnel looks great but I can paint in that tiny splash of yellow that makes the legs.

 

This, man just when i like the legends figure. Ill be passing on bombshell since im good with the hasbro, i have to take the takara route for shrapnel but i just remembered this wont have the weapon like the hasbro had. I wished i didn't pass on the legends figure as i have to buy the expensive versions that are not actually better.

 

The stickers are just bad. I think I noticed that on the RID guys first...no Sir, I don't like it.

I do like the matching paint though...and the Tak Skrapnel has some nice touches.

For me, CW Bombshell is the bomb. Yeah, I said it  

 

I cancelled my Takara powerglide when I found out about the indented circle for the stickers in these guys . Hasbro one will be better for what my boy wants

 

I'll probably pick these up because I'm troop building these guys anyway and it wouldn't hurt to have a pair of Takara colors. But man that circular imprint sucks, and the Hasbro ones aren't perfect either because I don't like Shrapnel's non matching yellow or silver visor. I'm hoping that three pack idea once Kickback comes out comes true.

 

The circular backed faction symbols are enough to make me pass on virtually any transformer toy.
