I don't think RID's toyline would look desirable to casuals. I think the Combiner Hunters were a better option.

Frankly the word 'pandering' also sorta loses meaning when talking about a company who's job is 'to sell toys to people, hopefully many people, and hopefully they like it.' Making popular toys is, for Hasbro, the point. People seem to use the term to mean 'Hasbro is making popular toys I don't like.'

Psyched for this set! Victorion will be very welcome too. I think it's great that the female bots are finally being worked into the line. I've always felt the collections were lacking without them.

 

...I want to see a flag made for Windblade's staff, so she can be the Standard Bearer.

I like a lot of what is going on in this set, feel like there's a certain Monster Hunter vibe to the whole thing. They equipped some Legendary gear and now they're going in the wilds to bring down a tremendous beast (Combiner, in this case).

My only issue, and its a minor one, is I would've liked to have seen Chromia and Windblade had their colours changed more significantly. Arcee being the only vast deco change reminds me a lot of the multi-packs that came out during Hunt for the Decepticons; where one figure would be different, and everything else in the box was largely the same as its original retail release.

 

This had occurred to me too, though as Autovolt mentioned, I can understand why they'd pass on RiD stuff for something more collector-themed.

Not sure what to do with this.

Funny I'm the exact opposite. Windblade and Chromia feel more like a repack repaint while Arcee just feels different to me.

Oh that deco looks beautiful. Facepaint is still the weakest aspect.

 

Asking a question I think I already know the answer to:

Do they only sell exclusives like these in a set? I'm not that interested in Chromia or Arcee, but like the Windblade exclusive.

Maybe I need to find someone who wants the other two and make an offer?
