That would be the Dazzling Glory set. The guns are chromed, and also include a chromed helmet (for the original hexatron).

Planet Steel Express has it for $9.01 Dazzling Glory R-01 Hexatron Chromed weapon set *FREE SHIPPING - Planet Steel Express

thanks for that link. it doesn't say out of stock, but the button to put it in my cart isn't there either…

I contacted them, it is out of stock. :(  I'm looking for an extra set of guns, chrome or the flat color is ok.

I keep trying to hold out for a Greatshot redeco/remold but I'm starting to want to cave and just get Sixshot.

So I'm on the same page as everyone else, the sword/scabbard/stand set has not yet made it to the people and the pricing hasn't been set, right? I keep reading about preordering, but see no option to do so, just ETAs.

EDIT: This is the version I bought and it's a fantastic figure. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...rce-article.html?highlight=Hexatron+Continuum

Maz put it all into perspective for me, and he's right. I don't actually need the swords and scabbards, they would just be a nice addition, that's all. After comparing images, the Continuum version is as legit as you can get.

    Now, onto the figure itself...

I now understand why people LOVE Mastermind Creations stuff. It's rock solid, high quality stuff. It might just be the best build quality I've seen in 3rd party. The best way I can describe it is this: FansProject and MakeToys make high quality figures, the plastic's better than what Hasbro produces these days, but it feels like a different plastic, there's no other way to explain it. Once you slap some Reprolabels on it, it becomes a Transformer and not just some random 3rd party bot made by some company we've barely heard of. With Mastermind, however, this is old skool 1980's Hasbro plastic. That weight, that heft, that smooth shine, those paint apps, all it needs is some die-cast and you'd swear this figure was a G1 Transformer with killer articulation.

That's why MMC is so successful, they've been able to replicate Hasbro, but 1980's Hasbro when build quality meant something and corners weren't cut. You could put this guy in with your official figure collection and you'd be hard pressed to find out this guy is a 3rd party figure. He's that solid, that well made, that classic Hasbro-ish.

First time I held him in my hands, I knew the experience was going to be different from any other 3rd party figure I've had in hand, and I've quite a few. That doesn't mean I enjoy my other 3rd party figures less, I still love them to pieces, but it does mean this guy is exceptional and brings a level of quality I've yet to see before.

He feels like he could be on your Masterpiece shelf, but he's built well enough that you could put him with your Classics shelf and play with him. Play with him a LOT and have him still be rock solid. Another, very good way to put it? You could give this one to a kid and not freak out about him breaking it.

Taking him out of the box, the feel, the experience, it reminded me of being a kid again. This? This is an expensive toy, but a toy nonetheless. All my others are toys that are delicate collectibles that require some TLC. It reminded me of how Hasbro caught lightning in a bottle, which is rare for all, and only a select few can do it. MMC not only replicated what Hasbro did, but they captured the same lightning bolt Hasbro uses. (I'm serious, you'd swear this was old skool Hasbro stuff.)

That doesn't mean he doesn't have some flaws, though, because he does. He's a tad over-engineered (as all 3rd parties are) and it can be a bit annoying. Flaps and panels that swing around and fold down or unfold or move this out of the way of that... (I'm still trying to figure out what his forearm wheels have a pivot for, it's not utilized in any of the forms that I could tell.)

I don't miss the shurikens. I rarely, if ever, would've used them and it would've been a pointless waste of plastic for me. After reading Maz's article on Continuum, I see now I have zero need for the swords and scabbards or even the Stag Cleavers, I just so happen to want them to help him look even more bad ass. What you get is more than enough, what they stripped off of him is just more to mess with, more to waste.

I don't like how the legs won't sit flush in jet or gun mode (it really drives me nuts...) and in some ways, it feels like the fit and finish isn't quite up to par, but frustratingly enough, in other modes and other spots of the figure, he's smooth as silk, so yeah, that drives me nuts.

In terms of plastic quality? He's tough to beat. Other 3rd parties should consider taking a look into replicating what MMC has done here, because it's just what an old skool fan is looking for. You can feel the substantial difference. Design is where the 3rd parties beat him, however. FP's M.A.D.L.A.W. has a much smoother and well thought out design. All of his modes lock together well, give you a sense of stability and look better, too.

(I'll use their "real" names for the next piece)
Beast mode? Quickswitch. (Sure, it's ugly, but it actually works.)
Jet mode? Quickswitch. (It's ridiculous looking, while Sixshot's is sleek, but it's a flying death machine, too.)
Gun mode? Quickswitch. (It feels more like a pistol, while Sixshot's feels like a jet with a handle on it.)
    Tank mode? Even.
Robot mode? Sixshot. (I like Quickswitch's robot mode, I do, but Sixshot is a behemoth.)
Can't really compare Sixshot's car mode against Quickswitch's boat mode. They both do their respective modes masterfully.

If I had to choose between either sixchanger, I'd probably go with M.A.D.L.A.W. honestly, but there's no reason not to buy Terminus Hexatron. Each have their own appeal, each have their own flaws, but as a sixchanger? FP's just does it a little better.

Still, I love them both and find them both to be a necessity for my collection. I will say, once you have one, you're going to want the other. You need the other. They're not complete without each other.

There are some nice touches that MMC throws in that some 3rd parties would most likely ignore, such as the really nice pull out landing gear that Hexatron has. The big ass engine compartment in car mode, giving it this ridiculous big boss penis envy car on steroids.

Their paint apps are top notch. Like incredibly good. No bleed, no overspray, no chips, just nice and solid. Hell, at first I thought the figure was painted all over until I realized it was just really nice and glossy plastic. (another area they beat other 3rds in, everyone else has that matte, rough feeling plastic)

Onto pricing, I'd say MMC's prices are a bit much for what they have to offer. I'd say this guy should be about $15-20.00 cheaper. If you're going to pay the full $140.00 for this guy, I'd say buy the original Hexatron because you get all of the accessories (minus the Stag Cleavers, of course) and the Continuum, while VERY nice, is not not worth the $140. Chromed pieces, new head, new chest wings and new guns, compared to the shit ton of accessories the original came with, and at the same price? It just makes more sense to spend the same and get more for the price.

In the interest of full disclosure, I did not pay full price. I bought mine used (it was used for display, nothing else) and I paid quite a bit less than the MSRP/going rate as of now. (I won't say the price, the seller wanted me to keep it under my hat. I'll respect their wishes. His wife wanted him to sell it for a lot more, he wanted to do it at an honest and respectable price.)

I'd have been incredibly disappointed to have paid full price for the version I got, so yeah...the price is a tad too high for these Hexatron guys. They're definitely worth your time and money, just a bit less money.

I will say, I get it. I now understand why people love MMC and want more of what they have to offer, it's just really really good toy stuffs and they know they have killer shit here. That being said, while I can see that what they're doing is a bit different from other 3rds, it's not so drastically different that they need TWENTY months to complete a figure like they did with the limbs on their Predaking. They do nothing so special it requires nearly two years of delays and promises to get it to the buyer.

I could see myself buying another MMC product for sure, but I don't have the patience for their delays and tweaks and whatnot. I'll wait a long time before I buy another one of their figures because I hate preorders that take forever to come to be. Now, if it's a figure that's ready to go and in stock, sure, I'll pounce on it, but their stuff isn't worth waiting for. (I know people will disagree with me, some vehemently.)

MMC is really frustrating, because this is a fantastic figure (even though it's flawed) but their prices and timeline are so prohibitive. If they could get both of those issues in check, I'd be more apt to buy their stuff. Because of their price and time issues, I'll be going with DX9's Invisible as my Masterpiece Mirage, which is a shame, because I'd like to give MMC more of my money.

Forget the MMC standard gun mode; I much prefer this more G1-style version (and I think this is better than the Quickswitch one).

It actually illustrates another thing I love about Hexatron: the fan-mode potential is enormous! (Not sure if the same is true of M.A.D.L.A.W).

Aside from several different variations to existing modes, I've seen the 'scorpion' mode, the 'jet-boat', the 'rail-gun', and various cannon-type modes, to name just some of them. And of course it can replicate Sixshot's legendary 'Seventh mode' (used to kill Ultra Magnus in Japan's Masterforce series).

Tempting though it undeniably is, I just can't bring myself to part with the cash for M.A.D.L.A.W.

I dropped my Hexatron and one of his swords broke off at the hilt. I emailed MMC and asked if there was any way I could get or pay for a replacement, mentioning my stupidity in breaking the toy. They sent me a new sword no questions asked.

MMC is da' bomb. I love them like... a fat kid loves cake.

JFC MMC customer service is amazing. I'm pretty much buying their stuff if I have any interest at all in the character, because I feel WAY more confident in it than I do any other 3P. They take a lot of the risks out of buying 3P stuff. You're not just dependent on your retailer.

Just got my Hexatron this morning and I love this figure! I'm not sure why I was so hesitant to jump on board since I love my Feral Rex, but I'm glad I pulled the trigger. If their Overlord maintains this quality, I'll be buying that day 1 for sure.

Okay guys, just scored a V.1 Hexatron off a fellow board member.

Question is to Reprolabel, or not? Can't make up my mind.

In my opinion, the reprolabels add so much to the figure. I ended up not using every single label but instead kinda picked and chose to my liking.

i love this figure.... but none of his alt modes really tickle me that much

i dont sit and transform him "play with" as much as i expected too.

its not that its to hard for me, there just isnt a mode im interested in getting him into... the reason for me to transform him is to just play with him. as soon as i get him into what ever mode i immediately put him back into bot mode

no matter what mode i get him in i see to much compramise in it for the 5 other..... he is like a all in one printer/fax/phone/copier/scanner

does 5 things... none particularly well.. again love the figure and plan on trying to find alt mode i love this week
