Welp, I can't say I was expecting to see this today! XCOM 2 Announced -- IGN First - IGN That looks... very different to the tone of the first game! Spoiler For starters, it looks like the aliens might have come back, only this time, for some reason, they unified humanity and put themselves in charge (you can clearly see an Ethereal on a billboard in the trailer). I wonder if this is going to be the game that finally ties together Enemy Unknown and The Bureau...
I finished my first playthrough of EU/EW back in April and was pretty impressed with the game. Overjoyed it's getting a sequel.
I wonder if my assault will be able to do what she did in the first game, and take out multiple chrysalids, using her close-range kill everything that gets near perk, when it wasn't even my turn. Also, I'll see if I can get Spoiler an ethereal to commit suicide again, 'cos it was bloody funny the last time it happened. Reasoning for being PC Exclusive was released. http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/06/05/why-xcom-2-had-to-be-pc-exclusive TL;DR answer: The console version controlled like shit. It also didn't sell well on console.
I played both on PS3 and was pretty happy with the controls. I'm hoping they'll release console versions in the future.
Well that's odd. I played EU and EW on PC, and I used a controller, since I don't like keyboard controls. Wait, does that means I'm an aberration? Win!
THe Console controls weren't bad but given the type of game mouse and keyboard is the superior control scheme. In the end it's the game developer's call on what system to release their product for. Don't like it? don't buy their products.
I spent countless hours on Enemy Unknown and Within and am excited about this new entry despite the PC only release. I hope they at least keep MEC Troopers. Would love to see those guys stomping around in updated graphics.
