The picture seems to have really made the white on the head stand out, it is not that different in person. Also, the final production version should be even closer than the initial version we received, which is the picture we showed.
Nope, still different wings. (tho I have to agree with the Dirge "Ramjet wings") I would have went for a Star Saber for the Jetfire mold without changes but for color & paint. (to go up against the Deathsaurus from 2 years ago.)
Did the colour chart sent to the factory have the same pantone code for the body and the head? Because it's really quite far off. Phazer
aw man, thats so far away.....and i wanna know the other exclusives too, but i know we cant until the show, which sucks cuz im not going...and no one has respond to my thread about buying the set from an attendee.....
I wasn't expecting a fancy deco here, so Bugbite's graphics are a nice surprise. Between the "Bug" name and the mind control reference, I'm wondering if he's a reincarnated Bombshell. I'm not expecting anything more than a remolded noggin for Dreadwind, but am hoping that there's a new head AND helmet. One could look like the original Dreadwind, and the other like Darkwing. EDIT: And re: "anime" Astrotrain, I think Classics Astro's colors are just fine. And they're using the retail toy's colors in the Club comic, so I doubt they'll redo them for an exclusive.
actually, lookin at pics of dreadwind and darkwing, i think his normal head should be more darkwing, while his helmet is dreadwind.....
I just meant whichever way they could get it to work out. Hence my saying "one" and "the other", and not "respectively". (Though I think Darkwing's "ears" and V-shaped visor eyes would make it work better as the helmet. And, quite honestly, I'm hoping for the colors to be closer to Darkwing's.)
Hope so. I'd rather get a prominent show character like Astrotrain, especially since the mold's never been repainted.
yo, foster, i bet we see an anime space choo choo eventually...no way will they leave that one to be forgotten....maybe a club store exclusive? how about it pete?
As I'd assume you already know, paint of the 'same color' often appears differently than the colored plastic, especially in photos, and especially when it's metallic and/or pearlescent, as Buggy appears to be (to me). P.S. I'm thinking another contributing factor here may be that the head piece would be black plastic to start, and that preview toy may have gotten an extra coat of paint to make sure the black doesn't dim it much.
It certainly shouldn't appear anything like that different no matter what the photography conditions, but if they're supposed to be the same pantone colour then maybe it's an isolated complete cock up by the factory and will be fixed in the production version. I wouldn't (and indeed have not as a distributor) paid for a production batch of a toy item that was that far from the brief. Phazer
It can appear very different based on the photography conditions, because the paint and plastic reflect light differently, as well as having differing levels of opacity. If you would actually read the thread, you might notice the part where Pete said outright that the parts don't look remotely that different in person and should be even closer in the final version, which actually verifies the "photography issues" claims.
