Hasbro clearly has their ups and downs but can't disagree with this post. Especially if these figures are really exclusive.

Blackarachnia and Slipstream are easy sells. Can't say I care abt Nightbird.

Sorry. I just found this post very confusing for a while.

While I'll give you the packaging shots are pathetic, if people stop beeing GEEWUN they'd realize Rook, Alpha Bravo, and Off-Road are pretty excellent figures in their own right. I don't care about the Protectobots as a whole and Rook's the only one I'm getting because he just looks fantastic. I appreciate AB for allowing me to get an Aerialbot limb that isn't basically the same thing four times (it's an issue I had with the original Aerialbots).

 

I need better pics of Slipstream's face, but she's probably a buy for me. Nightbird and Blackarachnia are probable passes.

 

Cannot WAIT for that Blackarachnia. That head sculpt looks amazing, and it'll serve as a Generations Blackarachnia for as long as it needs to (still hoping for a new mold one day, though). The other two aren't half bad, but I've never had a huge connection to Nightbird.

I'll probably be getting all three. BBTS preorders when?

This post isn't really at all relevant considering were looking at three figures that only have one G1 character amongst then. Besides, lately the Japanese marketing can seem a bit confused.

Shrapnel, Bombshell, Powerglide and Cosmos as RiD characters? IDW accurate Ultra Magnus, ruined by changing Minimus? Random reissue of 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal? They don't seem to be quite sure what fanbase they're aiming at.

 

Great, we finally get a Slipstream and she's a retool of the crappy Windblade mold... I'll wait for a better version, which will most likely be 3rd Party. Blackarachnia has me interested, so long as something can be done about that alt mode.

 

We might never get a perfect Slipstream. We'd either need another (better) mold of a female jetformer (which there currently aren't many of-- maybe the new combiner will have one?), an official Hasbro release (which means bringing back the Animated aesthetic, which seems unlikely outside of a Generations homage, and that still needs another few years before it's been long enough to justify), or for a 3rd party company to start giving a shit about Animated and its aesthetic.

I would be cool with any of those outcomes, don't get me wrong, I'm just not holding my breath.

 

I can see 3Ps making an upgrade kit for Slipstream.

As far as the Blackarachnia remold, I actually like the mold itself but I had issues with some of the tolerances on the figure. Joints and swivels were too damn loose and didn't clip in securely for either mode, I felt. If Takara fixes some of these issues, I think it''d make the figure a lot better, goofy proportions notwithstanding. I wonder if this new BA will come with the grappling hook and line accessory that plugs into her butt/abdomen in spider mode.

 

Welp, OK, I was wrong with my guess about Black Arachnica.

Not interested, I'm afraid, purely because of my weird no-animal-alt-mode thing.

 

I don't think they need to do anything for an animated aesthetic. Its a character just like Lugnut or Lockdown that gets a chug update, official or 3rd party. It will happen, I just need to wait it out.

 

Kind of neat seeing old Animated molds getting a reuse. Frankly wouldn't mind if Hasbro considered it... After all, the hand-drawn art for the toyline looks like Prime-Meets-Animated, aesthetically.

That said... The Arcee mold is ripe for retools given her shellformer setup... Nightbird from that is a very good option. They significantly resculpted the torso, which makes it even better!

Slipstream from Windblade isn't at all surprising. Given folks' mixed reaction to the FunPub figure, I'm sure this one will be more than welcome. Not sure about this headsculpt though.

 

I dunno, but using an existing Blackarachnia mold and adding a few new parts and some new paint doesn't exactly seem like 100% effort to me. More like 25% effort at best. Same with the others. These are still just re-tools. I guess it depends on how you perceive it, but this is not at all what I was hoping for. I just like original molds, but we've all got to work with our budgets.

 

So getting Blackarachnia and Slipstream, but could we maybe get the right wings for her?

 

Of course I'd prefer entirely new figures, but damnit if I'm still not super tempted by Blackarachnia at the very least.

 

Oh cool, I've been hoping for a Gen. Slipstream, and I had a feeling if there was one it'd be a Windblade retool.
Wish I could figure out what the hell's going on with Blackarachnia's spider-mode head.

 

Remolding the Animated Blackarachnia mold is an interesting choice.

Nightbird's mostly unexpected; I guess Paradron Medic will be reserved for an exclusive then?

Slipstream's great though, very excited for that one.

 

OH MAN, Those all look to be potentially awesome! I'm especially excited to see them making a Slipstream as I was always very put off by the one FunPub made a few years back.

That Black Arachnia looks to be especially awesome. Looking forward to seeing more pics as these girls are further developed. Very cool news!
