Nobody's explicitly said "it's a continuation of AoE," but they're not rebooting it. So..that would make it a continuation.

I don't mean like...a direct "takes place immediately after" continuation. But they're not rebooting, so the previous events will have happened.

Since Goldner said there's gonna be spinoffs focusing on several beloved characters, Optimus will most likely get a spinoff movie as well, maybe Orion Pax?

They rebooted Star Trek, how do they fear reboots to no end?

It's past time for Bee to actually talk.

Can't remember off the top of my head which interviews it was in but they went out of their way with convoluted pseudoscience to say that original Spock using the stuff in the first not reboot film somehow made the current cast the original cast so it's not even a Mirror Mirror alternated universe but the Trek Universe from the TV show.

To everyone else it's an alternate universe Star Trek because it's hard to destroy the planet Volcan and not be an alternate universe but the official Paramount line is not a reboot not an alternate universe.

Heck even Bay was talking about rebooting Transformers after Dark of the Moon but it seems like it was Paramount that wanted the soft reboot but not really a soft reboot just continuing on with different humans. Which is why I think it's someone up the command chain at Paramount that is blocking any reboots to the Paramount properties.

A bit off-topic, but I think it's fair to address this. The Abrams universe in Star Trek is officially an alternate universe. This is supported in the dialogue itself (emphasis mine).
Spock: You're assuming that Nero knows how events are predicted to unfold. The contrary, Nero's very presence has altered the flow of history, beginning with the attack on the U.S.S. Kelvin, culminating in the events of today, thereby creating an entire new chain of incidents that cannot be anticipated by either party.
    Uhura: An alternate reality.
Spock: Precisely. Whatever our lives might have been, if the time continuum was disrupted, our destinies have changed.

I don't really think so, in fact that spin-off movie actually confirms that he's gonna talk finally

They've been saying Megatron tore out his throat - in the expanded universe, Megsy does this immediately after Bee launches the AllSpark into the void of space as a form of revenge.

It's never been a mystery as to how Bee was rendered mute.

Ah I misinterpreted my phrase. What I really meant is; it's about time Bee get his normal voice back.

Yeah, thats just the BS they fed to try not to piss off Star Trek fans. For all intents and purposes, it's a reboot.

No, I know how he lost it, but I still think it would be awesome if they showed it in the live-action movies!

Oh, then yes it is...but I'm pretty sure he will since it's a spin-off and will most likely show bits and footage of him before he lost it

Oh, I'm kind of confused because I think I heard there's an origin story in the works and spin offs. Nothing about a sequel though. : /

    EDIT:
I think you're right, a sequel is also in the works actually.

To be honest, I found AOE at least somewhat watchable. I thought it was the best of the four movies and better than Transformers 1. Why? No Shia Labeouf, no military, less racism (I think), and no masturbation remarks. The Autobot characters were more developed as was the main baddy, Lockdown, who got more than 1-2 lines. AOE wasn't a great or even good film, but at least I could watch it without puking.

As for crossover cinematic universe, why not cross it over with the X-Files? IDW did it.

Of course, given David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson's age and America's obsession with youth, they have to....CGI Mulder and Scully a bit? Well they are doing it with Arnold Schwartzenegger in Terminator Genisys. And there is that whole deal about Fox owning X-Files and Paramount making TF movies......And it would have to be rebooted for that kind of a crossover anyways (and throw out Michael Bay from everything even as producer) which doesn't appear to be happening.... Damn! This ain't gonna work! But I wonder what a GOOD (no Michael Bay) X-Files/Transformers crossover movie would even be like? Any ideas?

And as for G.I. Joe, when's even a the third plain G.I. Joe movie coming out? And I don't think the current movie G.I. Joe universe is compatible with the current Transformers movie universe. I think one of them at least would have to be rebooted for a crossover to even work.

Did Bumblebee receive any facial reconstruction after he lost his voice, because if he did they could show it in the spin-off movie that's coming, it's gonna be awesome! I never found any info about him having different face, even in comics and prequels his face is still the same

It seems like Paramount is still kicking around ideas and we don't have so much official announcements as a list of what Paramount might do.

Since it looks almost certain that we're getting a prequel, I'm wondering if it'll align closely with the prequel comics, or if we'll be in sort of a "star wars" situation where a film comes out and basically negates a large segment of expanded universe material around previous films.

I think we've seen serious indications in comic tie-ins for the previous films that alignment is not going to be in the cards.
