Now that we have seen a Chromia in that deco and no legitimate reason for the characters to get random paint jobs for the comic other than to promote a toy, I'm almost 100% positive that these will be SDCC exclusives in a set with a Windblade repaint. (Or if not a SDCC, then an exclusive of some kind.)

Edit: Also Chromia's head needs the extra blue to match the comic in order to fully work in my opinion.

 

Arcee looks pretty neat!

 

Hmmm. Nice repaints. But trying to avoid repaints that have no place in my collection. Probably going to be an impulse buy thing if I have the money at the time of release.

 

Yeah I'm not crazy about either of their "eye mask" paint apps.

 

I was hoping Arcee's robot mode would have more paint apps. It isn't bad and the vehicle mode definitely sells the figure. Chromia is alright, but also feels underpainted, in both forms, so does nothing to sell me on the lackluster mold. In particular, her head should've been blue, not more white. However, if she was part of a 3-pack, I could stand to buy her.

Edit: Chromia's vehicle mode actually isn't too bad. While I'm not in love with the blue, white and red, the see through plastic is a huge step up from Hasbro's uncoloured plastic, and Takara's use of the same colour as the rest of the vehicle mode. Also, those Cybertronian markings are pretty cool, and the coloured paint is nice and shiny in both modes.

 

If they do the 3-pack with Windblade, I could see picking this up. Still wish we were getting a Lost Light Rodimus or Chromedome

 

The altmodes look interesting but the paint on robot mode seems random and the faces.....who choose this paint job?

 

Chromia looks like she is wearing Ultimate Warrior facepaint.

 

These remind me of the Universe repaints from 2003. That is to say that the color-schemes are garish and mismatched to the molds.

 

Chromia is ok, not as nice as Arcee. I will be seriously annoyed if these are exclusives though. I have no problem with exclusives but there is an annoying trend of fembot repaints being exclusive rather than mas retail.

 

This is the perfect Arcee color scheme IMO.

 

And I never saw Brainstorm in the wild at all. In fact, I still don't own a Brainstorm. We may need to talk...

Logistics is what's wrong with it. You're military, you should be satisfied with less...

 

These are killer, gosh. I really hope they aren't con exclusive- I've been trying to get my hands on every fembot I can find out of principle.

I would be in for both if I could get my hands on them. For Chromia, I will just repaint her face all white or silver, as the ultimate warrior scheme just isn't my thing. For Arcee, maybe I would add a few silver bits here and there.

 

Maybe Combiner Wars will continue to feature Combiner teams, while Combiner Hunters will be both the repainted Windblade, Arcee, Chromia as well as Firestar, Nuatica, Elita One, Moonracer, etc as well as maybe Chromedome, Highbrow, Hardhead, Mainframe, Fortress Maximus, Brawn, Hound, Seaspray, Devcon, (combining crews of both Thunderclash's vessel, the Lost Light, Earth's Team Prime, Pax's Mostructer hunt (yeah I know Hardhead's dead now, but they can still make him, as Scrapper is getting a figure))

 

Unfortunately, right now anything without a peg in its chest is going to be at least a retail exclusive.

 

also, maybe Arcee is SG Arcee (come on, I can't be the first onto think that with the color scheme)
