I'm working on a set of Prime characters based on the Beast Wars predacon crew. These so far are some roughs for Dynobot, Megastorm, Terrorsoar, and Wasp. I'll see about getting the others done soon, but any criticism is appreciated! I'm not sure about heir altmodes or weapons yet. Edit 1: After a few suggestion, I've done a second pass at Megastrom. Edit 2: march 2016 Still working on these, after all this time! Hope you enjoy. Feel free to offer altmode suggestions for the others, but honestly the only one I haven'd figured out yet is Blackarachnia. Still, you might have a better idea then me. edit 3: Megs! Thanks everyone! Looking at terrorsoar's face though, i think that needs more work... I was thinking that too; that they could just keep their beast modes. Megastorm and Dynobot at the two that look least like they could turn into vehicles (Since they have dino faces on their chests!) but Terrorsoar at least has taken more cues from his transmetal form. I was envisioning some kinda V.T.O.L. jet plane for him. Wasp's wings have been replaced with helicopter blades for his(Or maybe her? the design came out kinda feminine) alt-mode. These are still first passes. I want to do character sheets for each so I can show off alt modes and weapons. Since megastorm is equal parts season 1 and 2 megatron, which weapons should I focus on? Options are his purple laser (right arm), missile launcher (left arm), shoulder cannons, Hip mounted cannons, Plasma Cannon (Right arm or both in this case!).
Well, if you choose for Wasp to be a femme, I guess it makes sense, people've said that his beast mode was already female.
Oh noes, generic how? As in he looks like every transformer ever? Or looks to much like regular megatron? Or does he just look boring? Tell ME!!!
He would definitely benefit from having BW Megatron's defining features- the T-Rex head right arm and the left hand tail weapon, as well as some more kibble and a redrawn chest that looks less like Dinobot's. Right now he just looks like a recolored Prime Megatron with BW's head.
These are too good to be Prime designs. I agree Megs needs some kibble, but I feel like just his hip and back kibble would be enough to draw the comparrison. And maybe a chest that more vaguely resembles the original.
These are incredible. For suggestions for weapons, maybe give Megatron his Dinosaur head as a handheld flamethrower, rather than being an arm. For Terrorsaur, swords that store on his wings, and Dynobot's trademark sword. As for Wasp, maybe a gun that fires out spiked projectiles, kind of like how some cartoon bees can fire their stingers.
yeah, seriously. these all look so unique and interesting, especially the faces. like neo-animated with how much character these guys give off.
@ All the comments on megatron/megastorm; Ah, so a more season one look for him will look better you think? The prime bots all seemed symmetrical, though there are exceptions of course. Perhaps an asymmetrical design would help him. As for his chest design, I wanted to keep the "face" from his transmetal form intact, plus I like the parallel between him and dynobot's looks. I've done some roughs just to flesh stuff out for him. I was going to make his alt-mode a hovertank, and his arms with transform into claws that resemble his dinohead. I increased his shoulder pads too, hopefully invoking images of his transmetal form.
