That could be it, I deleted it from my list of recently won items after it popped that he was no longer a member. So I can't be 100% sure. I filed a claim with Paypal, and I have gotten refunds from the before even after a person canceled their account. Hopefully I do this time as well.

Wow... this really doesn't make any sense. Why does some Ebay enforcer suddenly have such a mad-on for Megatron? It's so clearly irrelevant... and to remove MODDED Megatron listings too? What's that all about? That doesn't even adhere to their own regulations.

Plus, all the discussion of gun control (which I am still sort of in favour of) is misplaced, since we're not even talking about a real gun here! It's now almost easier to buy a real gun legally in the US than it is to get an oversized or undersized transforming toy robot gun? Anyone see a problem with this?

It's weird that a country with such a gun culture fixation, a second amendment, and soooo many guns should be so weirdly neurotic about toy gun collectibles. It's sort of hypocritical, y'know?

I still have a CRATE of toy guns with no orange tips from my childhood (and some acquired since). Remarkably, I have never been shot. Must be because I'm in Canada, right? ;)

Though, yeah... VA Tech probably has shifted the balance a bit at the moment. But still... hysteria much? Gotta fix everything else except what's broken. Meh.

After every major tragedy, the issues becomes the "Flavor of the month", and being that next year is an election year, this will remain a hot topic. There will always be crazy people, but at least if they were to buy Megatron, they won't be able to shoot anyone with it. Now the Browning is the dangerous one... :lol

Has WST Megatron been banned on eBay too???? What's next? The Megatron that came with 20th Prime? Then, all TFs from this point will come with no weapons? I thought the whole MP-05 orange tip controversy was crazy, but this is worse than that!!

I'm sure a lot of this is due to the movie coming out and ebay fearing any sort of negative publicity. Once the movie hype ends and the VT fiasco dies down ebay will stop looking at megatron auctions. Still kinda stupid. Someone needs to start casting bright orange megatron and MP megatron barrel plugs just so people can stick them in their megatron toys to sell them, I guess.

Wow, they got really serious on the ban. Only three MP-05 listed, and zero reissue g1 megs. Only a few originals sprinkled in there.

I heard a story in the news here, once. Someone was trying to bring a 12 inch GI Joe through airport customs, and was told that the replica weapons would have to be confiscated, because they resembled real firearms in spite of being tiny.

I forget the outcome of this. The general feel I got from it was a reactionary measure, same as this. Megatron won't be gone from Ebay forever, though. Eventually as others have said, things will die down and all will be back to near on normal.

As regards why Ebay is singling out Megatron, I doubt they are. More likely that a directive has been published that states all guns, replicas and paraphenalia should be withdrawn.

I'm pretty sure the accessories are alright, though. Since most are only molded in one colour and are very obviously plastic or very small, I can't see anyone actually mistaking them for the real thing now could they?

I'll share some insight with you about eBay. I own a Knight Rider replica car. A particular manufacturer whom I ordered parts from comes out one day and declares that he has a master license to manufacture "authentic" Knight Rider replica parts. Sounds fishy, right? Why would Universal Studios authorize the manufacture of a line of auto parts from a defunct license (think of the liabilities since the original cars were more like what choppers are to motorcycles and weren't really street legal)?

He hires a legal team and sends cease and desist notices to all other KITT manufacturers. He also orders eBay to cancel all other auctions but his own for KITT parts (A lot of copies of copies of copies pieces used to be sold by various manufacturers). A person I know contacted eBay and was told they were airing on the side of caution in regards to the closing of auctions. They didn't want to get involved in a trademark dispute. Ebay doesn't research, they just seek to cover their asses as much as possible. Turns out the guy in our story only had the rights for the name to be used in conjunction with his parts and a master license never existed, so a lot of auctions got canceled for nothing. He just had really talented spin doctors to embellish things.

I think eBay is just trying to cover their asses again, and like people are saying, Megatron will be back just like un-official KITT parts are back.

Seriously, this is just Ebay overeacting, give it a few months, everything will be back to normal, and if its not, well, Its not the end of the world, is it?

Whats next, they ban Video Games because Jack Thompson blames them for violence thats existed since before anyone ever invented the idea of Video Games?

So, uh, are Ebay US just really dumb or what?

Realistic toy gun replicas are not only sold in the USA...

I'm just waiting for people to start using strange auction titles to avoid ebay's censors - "Masterpiece Megatron Box and inserts with huge bonus" The bonus being the toy and accessories that go in the inserts :p

Sorry, please leave the political comments outside.

Funny thing is that I can still get accessories for my real Walther on eBay. Got a vintage holster for it and can get combat load magazines that hold more ammo! Hell, I've even seen "basket case" pistols that aside from being in pieces and missing a spring or two, could be easily put back into working order.

Probably but kids are into airsoft & those look real. There was a kid in Florida who painted his airsoft gun tip & intentionally pointed it at a policeman in school. http://www.sbsun.com/news/ci_3401319&cid=0 Those are still on eBay. A lot good an orange tip does huh.
