Bugbite would be awesome BUT it's gotta' get a new remolded head. If Buzzsaw gets one its entirely possible that Bugbite may share it.

 

I'm really digging the SG Waspinator colors. But if this is a troop builder I'm more curious as to what purpose they'll serve in the story. Skittle wasps.
Also, ouch. A 4-figure troop builder? I'm sure that set alone will set those of us that are attending back an easy $150.

 

No, one of those four isn't going to be in the troop builder - I.E. that Wings of Honor set from a few years back that had Scourge and the Sweeps from the Cybertron Sideways mold. Scourge himself was in the boxset, while the Sweeps were in the troop builder.

 

I don't know, seems like this year they're breaking a few molds in terms of exclusives so a four piece troop builder set wouldn't be completely crazy. Though if any of those four were the attendee figure I'd put my money on the SG Waspinator/Buzzsaw, seems like he's the one that stands out the most being the only one with an actual character behind it.

 

Why do people keep calling it Buzzsaw. It's Fox Kids TM Waspy...

Plus, "Different Character" just sounds better than "now-defunct Saturday morning programming block repaint that's still the same character but never was used anywhere."

 

I second tho notion. Most of the current figs are revamps of botcon characters. And this would fit that completely.

 

Yeah, it could be. Or we could be in for a new surprise this year with a 4-figure troop builder. It seems they're always doing something different each year, save 09, 10, & 11. Not to mention, the only year the troop builder didn't share the same mold with a box set figure was 2011.
And we could be looking at the attendee freebie & troop builder (just like in 2011).

Or we could be looking at another batch of PRID Arcee mold Transmutate (anyone remember that???) a little one-off. Hell they could be KOs for all we know.

But I doubt the last bit. I'm sure it's the troop builder and/or attendee freebie.

No doubt about it. I have a feeling the SG colorscheme Waspinator will be the hottest of the four. I know he won't sit on my 2015 shelf, that's for sure.
As far as the characters... I doubt they're "waspinators." It was said on Twitter that stepper is the only SG character in Axiom Nexus. They could get away with calling him Buzzsaw though, for sure.
Other than that, my money is on the 4th one in this picture paying more homage to Transmetal Waspinator than anything.

 

First one is definitely Buzzsaw. Second one looks like Horrorcon Waspinator. I'm guessing the other ones are Beast Wars Bug Bite and Transmetal Waspinator. Hopefully we'll find out for sure sooner rather than later.

 

I think the one on the far right that no-one can identify is meant to homage starscream, with the majority red body and the blue forearms I think I see some white on him. It would make sense after all.

Awesome... but how much? $30 ea seems "fair"... but $60ish would be deal breaker for me.

It's supposed to homage Fox Kids Waspinator which was mapped closely to and had been accepted as Transmetal Buzzsaw. I used mine as a stand-in for Mayhem Attack Squad's Venom with TM2 Frostbite as Carnivac.

Regardless, these guys will be a welcome addition to my Generations Beast Wars shelf. I still want a Dark Designs Rhinox.

Maybe it's for the best. Inferno would have benefited greatly from significant remolding of the Waspinator mold. New head, blender butt, pointy shoulders, claw hands.

but Buzzsaw's colors are different than Fox Kids Waspinator. It's clearly intended to be the SG version of Waspinator which is based off the Fox Kids version, and not Buzzsaw. They could name is Buzzsaw in their fiction, but as far as what it's based off of, it's clear what it is and isn't.

They're exclusive. {Though the company has been cross-selling exclusives with eHobby for a while now, typically those have only been the club figures, not the convention figures. Who knows if it will expand in the future to convention exclusives.}
There's also looking for people on the forums in advance, who are going and could get you them. It gets a little more complicated if you want the 1 attendee figure that's 1 per Primus package. Either you pay a set price for the figure alone, pay for their whole Primus package to get it, or ask them to try and get an additional one for you while at the convention which is risky since they can't guarantee it.
