I really hope that this decrease in quality and increasing number of shelfwarming toys really, really flops, hard.

I'd buy the "It's for kids" argument if kids actually bought these, but the substantially large number of shelfwarming toys says the opposite - which is
kids are NOT buying this stuff.

I think it's at the point that Hasbro's Transformers sales need to plummet, which I'm sure they will, for Hasbro to get it.

Then hopefully they'll return to reasonable quality and complexity in Transformers.

The only people buying this are divorced parents or non connected grandparents who go to buy a toy in the store for a 3-5 year old they don't see very often. This toy is more a statement when presented as a present then something that a child actually wants.

This toy is by design a trap.

I bet the people responsible for stocking toy area/stores shelves saw these they groaned

Does anyone remember how much Unicron or Primus were when they came out?

So that's why stuff like this collects dust at the stores here.

My goodness, as much as I'm willing to defend Hasbro I seriously have to call bullshit on the guy who thought that this hollowed out, barely articulated monstrosity should cost more than a Combiner Wars leader Megatron. Folks its pretty evident by now that Hasbro cares very little for this franchise. Out of Combiners Wars (and that depends on where you stand), is there really anything from this company that's worth spending money on? The quality control has gotten really bad throughout the years. Never would I have seen the day where a toyline like the new RID makes Beast Hunters look like Generations 2010 in comparison. That is how low we have sunk. Figures are getting more expensive, they're more smaller and hollow even when compared to DOTM. Now I'll grant that Combiner Wars has been rather decent so far. But how long will that gravy train last? The sad thing is that if most of us collectors were to stop buying then that would send a message to Hasbro and given the mentality of most companies nowadays, would basically just say fuck it no point even half assing anymore. Or probably just make Generations from here on out a Japanese exclusive line.

    Kill it with fire.

Thankfully, it will not take much fire to kill it. Apparently $50 doesn't buy you much plastic...

For me Rid 2015 is a far better show than Prime.

and really??? Rapist retailer, couldn't think of a better description, then to compare it to a horrible attack on a woman.

In some stores it does and in others it doesn't. If the titan figures don't sell well why has the big chain stores now ordered 3 different series worth? (Prime, AOE, and RID15). Stores are generally not in the business of filling their shelves with toys that don't sell.

It isn't that price or size or simplicity that kills this toy for me, it's that face.

    Kill it.

And I'm not even usually harsh to simplified TFs.

Men can be raped too, you know.

And so can children and animals.

He could have done better, but so could you ;)

I doubt I'll be seeing this monster around here. Local stores still haven't gotten one-step underbite, still disposing of the AoE one-step.

Jezuz, you could find him using Google Earth.

Why dont they make these hollow? So we can store our Rid collections inside. More fun than boxes.

I haven't watched the cartoon yet to know if it is the cartoon voice, but clips of the toy's different sounds were posted up here for you to see if it is the cartoon voice actor.

If it wasn't so expensive, it is a fun lump of plastic to go with the giant Rescue Bots Epic Optimus Prime.

And at least it has more paint apps than the converting Titan...

As someone who collects both Titan Heroes and these giant, stand-alone toys, I am actually really looking forward to this. It's super cheap while looking decent and might even be in scale with the Marvel Titans.
...I'm going to get murdered for saying that, aren't I?

Yep. I don't know about you, but my tansformers areas in walmart consist of two sides, a left side which is full of 1 step movie and RID stuff, 3 step RID stuff, titans and other random tranformers no one wants to buy, and the right side, which is mostly empty pegs.

The empty pegs say Combiners Wars and RID Deluxe. The right side lower shelves also have voyager CW stickers but they're full of more 3-step figures.

I don't see how any human being at any age can find these appealing. They say they are for little kids, but my nephew is almost a year old and I watch him getting into things around the house. He has giant tonka trucks and mega bloks and stuff, but what he's most interested in is the TV, DVD covers, photos and the ipad which hsi parents have to keep hidden. He'll sit there and just mess with it for hours trying to understand it.

You'd think the big yellow tonka truck he would enjoy, but nope. He got bored with it after the first few days and wants to experience more complex things he doesn't understand yet. I think most humans are like that. They want to learn.
