Just got Apollyon in from TCP - it's like Christmas in this house. No obvious issues yet other than the floppy right arm when you try to lift it out from the body. 3 dimples (4th is almost non existent), no issues on the head. I think I need to collapse the chest down onto the waist but am nervous after seeing that sheared off waist swivel.

Thanks again to Brandon and the TCP crew for their bulletproof packaging and lightning service. It arrived at 9:30 Pacific this morning. Shipped Thursday night. And this was the FREE shipping.

Applied future to the right ball joint and the inner leg flap to make it tighter and always sit flush inside the leg. One application worked perfectly for both. The shoulder is actually a bit too tight now should be all good. Also fixed the loose knees and fingers on my Tigertrack. Never used Future before but thanks to this forum for introducing it and I'm already thinking about using it more. Anyone coat their whole figure with it yet?

What do you mean, the whole figure? There is no need. If he has peeling paint like Huff, i would recommend attempting to "seal" it with future. I did that with my Huff when I first got him and didn't have any peeling for like a year. Noticed a bit of peeling and reapplied and he's good to go again ... Probably for another year lol.

Been lurking here for months and thought I'd chime in. Mine arrived a week ago with no serious issues. I've lost a bit of silver on his head (you know the spot) after transforming him half a dozen times (I'll pick up a silver sharpie next time I'm at the store). I was able to get one of the new shoulder sockets sanded down a bit and put it on so that he can hold his gun arm out (prior to sanding, it was ridiculously tight as others have mentioned). Had to loosen the screws for the full arm extension (enabling the bicep swivel) on his left arm and had to loosen both elbows a bit to enable the double joints. After all of that, my Megatron seems to be as perfect as any I've heard of. Chest dimples are present but very very slight (I was never bothered by what I saw in reviewers' photos but nice to find that they were almost nonexistent on mine). Some of the panels on the gun handle don't seem to want to stay tabbed in and I can't seem to quite manage to close all of the separations in the arm area but otherwise he transforms well.

The only problem I have now is the tightness of his left leg when trying to extend it from gun mode to bot mode. Every time I transform him to bot mode, I'm afraid I'm going to rip the leg clean off. I've mentioned it in the fixes thread asking if anybody has a solution.

Love this toy! After my first transformation, I swore I was going to permanently leave him in bot mode, but I couldn't resist and now I enjoy transforming him. He makes an incredible addition to my small MP collection (my only 3p purchase so far) and, like some others have said, I kind of feel... finished. I mean there's a few I'd still like to get (I've never been able to find Starscream and refuse to pay ~$200 for him so I'm hoping I can snag the rumored July US release) but it's nowhere near as pressing a need as it was before there was a Megatron on my shelf.

Has anyone tried using super glue instead of nail polish for the ball joint? I would imagine that would hold stronger?

That's a BS thing to say. People shouldn't immediately face blame accusations when they post problems like that.

The purpose of using polish is to thicken the ball joint. Super glue does this too but sticks and from experience, messy to use.

Now small question for those that are returning your copy to BBTS, they offer a refund and can put you down for preorder on the second run. But will they offer a $15 discount? They were not really specific about it. Seems unfair to have to pay $15 more because they are out of stock to do an exchange, Especially since it's a factory defect.

Bad idea. Spring for some Future Shine at walmart or possible Lowes / Home Depot.

I stocked up on the stuff a year or so ago when the Walmart near me put it on clearance.
Super Glue is the worst solution in my book as it chemically melts the plastic essentially. Plus if you are not careful it gets on the rest of the figure and will leave unsightly marks.
Plus the movement is not smooth after.

I need to start to put some of my extra Future in a thimble container and start to pimp it out.. it is becoming harder to find. At some point they labeling changed and what you think you are buying (Future Shine) is actually floor cleaner and doesn't work like an acrylic.

    Make that 3!

Awesome idea! That's my only gripe with this figure.

I think he's one of the best, I'd be interested to know your opinion on who the good ones are.

That'd give you a crunchy, crusty armpit. I wouldn't recommend that.

I guess just what you're saying about Huff. Megatron's paint doesn't peel but wouldn't a layer of protection still be beneficial? I don't know and never used the stuff before last night but it's something I heard people did with other figures so just asking.

It's in this thread somewhere. I did a quick search and didn't find it yet but I'll try to track it down. Logical way would be to search from the date people got this and maybe narrow it down by username of people who had them and some keywords (shave, cut, leg, flap or panel). Also maybe search the picture link for the images.

If you look at the hinge that folds the flap down, the corner of the small flap hits the verticals silver panel. Looking at it now, I don't think you'd want to shave either of the parts because they may show in gun mode. Gotta see what he did again to see if anything was compromised.

I've actually considered doing the same but I'm worried I'll shave it too thin and weaken it. It would show in gun mode.

    Leakin the link didn't work.

I would try using a hair dryer on full hot at the base of the barrel where it's crooked. Get it nice and hot for a minute and see if you can bend it straight. You have to get it pretty hot to make it move, but then it will air cool in 5 minutes or so and stay straight as an arrow. I use that for a lot of figures and weapons that have bends from the packaging, but not sure if it will work on that particular piece. If that doesn't work, then I'd contact your retailer about next steps on a replacement.

Mine arrives next week, and I'm optimistic I won't get a decapitated one, or a mis-riveted one, or one where something snaps like that guy's cannon barrel did.

I plan to post my thoughts once I have him, good or bad.

I should not face accusations of "prolly user error" if I am unlucky enough to get a lemon.

If the community decides that *is* how we're going to respond to reports of breakage problems, then it will have a direct chilling effect of teaching people not to post such problems. Then we lose information.

So unless there is evidence of user error, then we should be assuming fellow fans are not to blame. Particularly when parts breaking has some presedence on a figure.

I also had this problem, this is how I fixed it.

The twist is actually a very short screw in which pushes a metal strip in to make a connection. If you remove the batteries and look under them you will find the small metal strip. Slightly bend this in a little (not too much) and try the batteries again. It might need a couple of tries - if this doesn't fix your problem it needs to come in a little more, if the light is stuck on you've bent it too far and you need to push it back out slightly.

Hope this helps with your specific case.

Thanks man! I'll definitely try that out first, hopefully it will work out because the one I got is pretty damn good except for this barrel issue.
