It's a tough choice between Lockdown and Sentinel.

    But I'll go with Sentinel.

Sentinel Prime probably has the edge over Lockdown in my books, as I find the idea of an Autobot traitor a fascinating one. Especially one as extreme as he is, with the whole "end justifies the means" philosophy.

Sentinel was the most fleshed out, tbh.

Though it also ends up making The best villain an Autobot and not a Decepticon.

Good point. I'll just have to splice Ultron's voice onto the scenes with Galvatron so they'll have their first proper Con in years.

Lockdown. Sentinel Prime is a very close second.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who picked The Fallen, but I've always had a soft spot for those "Ultimate Evil" style villains.

    Agreed.

Wha? I liked Lockdown (who wasn't technically a Decepticon since he was a neutral bounty hunter) but all his mumbo jumbo talk of creators was clear as mud. What's so unclear about Sentinel? Betray Autobots, kick Megatron around for control of the Cons, enslave humanity, bring Cybertron to Earth, put slaves to work rebuilding Cybertron. Seemed pretty clear to me.

Lockdown, just because he was so cool of a character. Sentinel is a close second because he was really the only villain to have a sympathetic side.

That's not a tough choice at all.

Except the ends didn't justify the means. The ends completely contradicted the means.

Sentinel's reasoning was that the Autobots had no chance of winning the war so in order to save them he had to betray them. Except he personally tried to kill all of them so how does that help them to survive? Plus it doesn't make much sense why he didn't think they could win when he showed he alone had to the power to take out the entire Decepticon army. He bitch slapped Megatron right in front of them and took command of the Decepticons so by that logic he could of just ordered the rest of the Decepticons to stand down. They were taking his orders anyway. Nothing about that makes sense.

What's not clear about your creators paid me to bring you back to them? That was literally his entire motivation, he was being paid to capture Optimus Prime. That's it. It couldn't possibly be any more simple than that.

How can you understand something as complicated as to save you I have to kill you but can't understand I want to capture you because someone paid me to capture you. The first one is a complete contradiction. That's like someone claiming to save your life right after murdering you. It's impossible to comprehend. The second one is like not understanding the concept of working a job to earn money. That's a concept so simple children usually understand it about three years before they're even legally allowed to apply for a job.

Sentinel wasn't trying to save the Autobots, he was trying to save Cybertron.

"For the sake of our planet's survival, a deal had to be made... With Megatron,"

Nowhere did Sentinel ever say he wanted to save the Autobots. He was willing to give them a chance to join him, and the Decepticons, but he was also willing to kill them if they didn't.

It's possible that during the war, the Decepticons were mostly made up for the sort of Decepticons that appeared in the first movie. If the 'Cons were that powerful, it'd be easy to think they'd win. Back then, Megatron just threw Optimus around. In Chicago, Sentinel did bitchslap Megatron, but if he outright told the 'Cons to give up, they'd probably turn on him, including Shockwave, who was fairly powerful.

He didn't say our planet, he said our race and our home, referring to the Autobots and Cybertron. Which some people have taken to mean Cybertronians in general rather than just the Autobots. However then the whole bit about him thinking the Autobots had no chance of winning the war and joining Megatron to save them wouldn't really make much sense unless he was still referring to the Autobots.

As for the Decepticons turning on him. If they weren't going to turn on him for bitch slapping their leader, they weren't going to turn on him at all. It seemed like all the Decepticons were more afraid of Sentinel than they were of Megatron which should mean he had an easy way to end the war with one command but nope, lets kill the Autobots which is totally not what I want at all.
