I honestly found the 2009 era of Transformers overrated.

Was not found of many of the ROTF figures and the critical reception had me reconsider many things Transformers.

I don't mind human story either... if it has a POINT to it. What was contributed to the overall plot by Sam going to college, Judy Witwicky going nuts, Sam's parents going to France, or the whole "I love you" subplot? The movie could have started with Megatron's resurrection, and been over much faster and been much more enjoyable (though the Shangai battle was pretty cool). With Dark of the Moon, the job scenes, while pointless, were sometimes funny enough that I didn't mind them. With the college scenes, the dogs humping, and Sam's parents, I feel bored, annoyed, and turned off of it. I'll admit that it became enjoyable when the Transformers showed up. MOST of the time.

While the forest battle was an enjoyable scene as well as a Crowning Moment of Awesome for Optimus Prime, I enjoyed the use of the cars and transformations being used more in DOTM's fight scenes. And Sentinel Prime didn't go out in under a minute like the Fallen.
Also, it was pretty insulting seeing the first and most well-known combiner of the Transformers franchise do nothing but have ONE cool combination sequence, suck up a bunch of sand, got beaten up by the racial stereotypes, climbed a pyramid, and then get shot. If he ended up eating Mudflap (and Skids and Leo, too), I would have been MUCH happier. I won't even start on the racial stereotype twins, since others have criticized them before me and probably better than I would.

To be honest, I prefer the Battle Blade Bumblebee and ROTF Leader Class Optimus Prime.

I recall being seriously disappointed when my brother got Devastator and none of the Constructicons had individual robot modes.

That was a disappointment but it was accurate to the movie.

I liked the movie for the simple fact that unlike the first movie the Transformers were actually characters and not just talking set pieces. The Transformers and human characters both got about equal amount of screen time rather than the focus being entirely on the humans and totally forgetting that this is suppose to be a Transformers movie.

That's all I can really think of.

True, but with masterpieces like ROTF Leader Prime and Bludgeon, and HFTD Battle Blade Bumblebee and Leader Starscream coming out around the same time, you'd think they'd be able to manage a proper combiner...

:inquisiti  Yoda was Frank Oz. Tony Todd is The Fallen.

The fight scene in the woods is awesome. Also, ROTF LC Optimus Prime.

Yep, the fight in the woods was visually the best action set piece in the whole series of Bay movies.

To see it on a cinema screen was pretty amazing.

It's not my favorite of the movie franchise, but it holds a special place in my heart. Reasons for this include:
    *The score is awesome.
*It was my first midnight premier.
*It pulled of the 'ancient astronauts' thing better than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
*The Fallen was an pretty cool character.
    *FREAKING! SIDESWIPE! 'nuff said.
*The fight scenes were awesome to watch (not to mention the explosions kept me awake when the battle in egypt was nearing an end).
*The Devastator scenes (except the enemy scrotum scene, I didn't find it funny).
*The inclusion of the Matrix of Leadership got me really excited.
*And last but not least, watching the trailer for this still gets me excited to watch it.

Tom Kane was also Yoda in the Clone Wars but yeah.

Tony Todd's voice as The Fallen really was an amazing casting choice. I know I bring that up a lot.

Haha! It's so not! ROTF might have had some nice ILM work scattered amongst it, but at least AOE had some semblance of a plot and Autobots that knew they were in a scene together!

Seriously, for me it's like picking my favourite my STD, but AOE is clearly the most cohesive and competent filmmaking!

(lol, I never thought I'd use the the word competent in the movie forums without it being prefixed with "in"!)
