I believe griffin confirmed they will be G1 colored. The only thing not confirmed is the number of Dinobots.
He says he "hopes" before mentioning how many he hopes are in the set and coloring. I don't think he was saying he knew what colors they'll be. I highly doubt that. I don't want to throw this thread off topic because this can easily sway towards a speculation debate and that's not what this thread is about. I don't think Takara aims to beat 3ps to market, I think it's the other way around. Again, until 3p toys are sold at big retailer shelves next to official Transformers, Hasbro/TakaraTomy might not waste the money in legal costs to put a stop to 3p companies. It's possible that they knew of FansToys' then-Soundwave figure and that KFC had what would be Citizen Stack, in the works. It's also possible that they didn't care. I don't think Hasui Shogo was behind a computer screen trying to see what those companies were coming up with for a Soundwave/Ultra Magnus. The bigger issue is and was the use infringement of Hasbro/Takara's intellectual property. However, building on what I said previously, this may not be a huge deal to them until if/when 3p products are sold at mass market retailers competing directly with Transformers on the same shelves.
A very minor update, which only confirms what was already known - I asked, and the Hasbro rep said that Tracks is indeed MP-25. So hopefully the confusion that this tiny little mixup or typo can be put behind us, and just enjoy all the new images and info of Tracks now.
when might we hear more news on these g1 reissue dinobots? like maybe the next convention or something... these are #1 on my list of things i want them to reissue.
First time since I started collecting that I don't want to buy a figure from the Main TV show... Plenty of classics I want to pick up.
I am optimistic, but let's not count our chickens before they hatch here. We have no hard evidence of this other than word of mouth. Hasbro representatives at these toy fairs are notorious for giving out wrong information likely due to misunderstandings or confusion. Considering Hasbro would be first to reissue Dinobots, it is still a suspicious idea. I am not sure I can think of any other instance where they were first to reissue something before Takara, especially considering they said some of the molds were either lost or damaged. Best to hope for it but remain skeptical until we see if it is true and exactly what is in the set.
