So I just got my Impossible Toys Alicon today, and though this is something I've wanted for 26 years, there was 2 things that could have been done to make it perfect. Storage for the staffs and spikes that come off in alt mode. They got this part right, the connector piece for the two halves of the staff store in the gator's mouth. But, the front shoulder spikes come off for transformation. There is no place to put these spikes anywhere on the figure in alt mode, I searched everywhere, inside and out. The staff halves also have nowhere to stow. So, using plastic from the lid of this container, I fashioned a storage clip. It stores right inside his tail. Pretty much completely unseen, and completely unobtrusive.
Thanks all! Yeah, I emailed TFSource asking for a replacement part because I couldn't find it in the box anywhere, and not 30 seconds later I saw it there whoops!
Great job, I agree that this is the figure I've been waiting years for, a few minor imperfections in the storage as you pointed out, and I feel he's a little large compared to other transformers, but overall a great figure. I'll be trying out something like you've done myself.
that would have been cool if it was added to the toy already, maybe you can do a add on kit you just need more containers lol. BTW those shoulder spikes connect to the staff when its not connected see here http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...45629-trns-03-alicon-pics-transformation.html
The problem is that the connector piece for the two staff halves has slightly bigger pegs than the spikes do, so they don't stay in anymore. The holes in the bottoms of the staffs have been spread out, there are even little stress marks around the bottoms, unfortunately. I was doing that in the beginning.
The connector stays in fine, very tight. It just made the holes too wide for the spikes to fit in the bottoms of the staffs in alt mode.
Once I get my Allicons in, I'll see about throwing together a quick CAD of this design and put it up in my Shapeways store.
Sorry to raise this discussion from the dead, but I just found it via Google. I also have the Alicon and I share your opinion of it. Great figure, but not providing storage for the weapons is a negative. All your pics seems to have gone away, so, maybe in a pm, could you show me how you did this? Thanks. Did this ever happen?
