Yeah I see what you are saying. My non political reply is that the gun alt mode diminished the character in the show, since he was dependent on someone else to wield him. As far as the toy - I will not deny that Megatrons gun mode had good play value. But the robot mode is a hot mess, even by G1 standards.

I'd suggest shockwave as a replacement. But he has the same issues with requiring someone else to wield him. Jetfire might have worked except for the whole robotech thing.

I really dig the headscuplt Galvatron had but man downsizing it ruined the toy.

I still love the Onslaught mold after all this time.

Bludgeon wouldn't come out for at least another year.

Galvatron was the only Universe 2.0 "new" mold that was 100% a tank, barring Legends Warpath who barely existed at retail as it is.

The line itself, though, contained two repaints of Cybertron Defense Scattorshot - who basically was a MRLS armed tank - in somewhat similar color schemes. When Hasbro actually said there were "too many tanks" in Universe 2.0 as a reason why Galvatron wasn't a class higher in size, this pissed off a lot of people.

But given the only brand new mold of that filler line at Voyager size is the magnificent Inferno figure, people weren't that angry once that toy finally hit saturation point at retail.

Actually, I'd say Soundwave was the perfect choice - his face is the Decepticon symbol's origin after all.

Ironically? Megatron's upgrade to Galvatron basically did exactly this - it turned him more purple and gave him electronic innards. Additionally, the toy does retain the original guy's possession of a gun mode!

Soundwave would've made an interesting main villain. A more cerebral "knowledge is power" type that seeks to control everyone's information (speaking of political!), who gets his personal always-at-the-ready army to do his dirty work.

... which probably wouldn't work as an 80s cartoon, but it's fun to imagine anyways.

Not amused with how the Fandom seems to look at any toy that vaguely looks like Overlord in some way be it the headsculpt, a sword or a tank mode or just being huge and just thinks YUP we deffo need an Overlord redeco.

Please. Overlord needs his (their? because I think Overlord is Gender Neutral) own mold that can be a Jet AND a Tank at the same time and become a base.

allow me to explain, overlords powermaster (godmaster?) partners are a husband and wife team, Mega and Giga, who connect to overlords chest, thus he has a female boob.

Yeah that would have been cool but a tape deck doesn't inspire fear or anything.

I'd be cool with Overlord being a Cybertron Megatron repaint.

    :lol

I LOVE the Leader Starscream. Leader Seekers makes SO MUCH more sense to me than deluxe jets.

Even though CW Ultra Magnus is shown to hold cars, and that's great, I still question why they made the door 1/144 if it'll hold deluxe cars.

I like the pace of the MP line. Quality over quantity. Keeps the line very affordable and I don't have to worry about running out of space yet. Also, the slow drip of the line allows more time to enjoy the figures I have.

Pretty sure nobody dislikes him for small reasons, and only a minority dislikes him for the design in general.

seeing as people are getting mad or at least disappointed over a tiny door, I would say that yeah, people literally dislike the toy over small reasons.
