I dunno, something about the Cloud line just makes it more valuble than any other Takara imports I've seen.

but yeah $250 (a price most MP's don't go up to) for a repaint of Springer is pretty crazy.

I'm still kicking myself for canceling my BBTS preorder because I figured there would be plenty to go around based on the sales of the other ones..

    That's just silly.

The cloud line are full of lazy repaints with no new parts.

I've said on a number of occasions that just changing the sliding shoulder panels would have created the look of the iconic Hot Rod(imus) fins.

Thankful that our local crack slanger had an extra one when I told him I was kicking myself for missing out on it. Not overly interested in getting Optimus or Megatron (unless I have spare cash), but grabbed a loose Shockwave and Roadbuster for dirt cheap, so I don't mind paying around $90 for Rodimus. Just need to track down a Starscream.

People paying out the nose for a red and yellow Springer are gonna end up feeling pretty damn silly when Hasbro does a REAL, IDW-inspired Rodimus fig. Given Leader Magnus, it's only a matter of time.

Yeah. Every time I see the CC Chromedome on eBay for around 130 I'm so tempted because I love the character, but then I remember that we got a freaking Voyager Brainstorm last year. There's no way Hasbro's not going to make a mass market Chromie,

Depending what you deem paying out the nose. The completionist in me (though I am a little behind on my Takara Classic figures right now) will still be plenty happy paying $90ish for the figure even if another version comes out. At $250, I would feel a little silly though.

But then again they might not. Why go to the efforts of making an entire new figure when one was recently made to specifically cater to fans? And as for a rodimus toy I wouldn't hold your breath. Any figure that's going to be released in the next 1-2 years that isn't a leader will be part of combiner wars. And I doubt we'd get a voyager rodimus from that.

Yeah, the original $80 to $90 price is okay, given the higher cost of importing plus the limited nature of the Cloud line. But paying upwards of $250? Better to just sit back and have some patience. A new Rodimus will come eventually. Maybe not until after Combiner Wars, but it'll come.

Considering the Hot Rod we are getting from the Legends Blackjack Toy I wouldn't hold my breath either. Roddy doesn't seem to be one of those characters getting much of a break since Animated.

And "lazy repaint" or not it's still a pretty amazing figure, shits all over the crummy Classics Hot Rod and I'm glad I got mine for a relatively sane price on release. Not $250 insane though.

I think we'll be getting an update on Hot Rod in the years to come. We haven't had a new CHUG mold for him since the first year of Classics, and he's one of the most popular characters.

I cannot believe I never preordered this guy. I had assumed I had time, like all the other Cloud figures. I had this listing on my watch list and was SHOCKED to see it get remotely close to this price.

At $150 I was ready to bid. Honest. But $250? C'mon man...

At this point I hope there's a flood of them released on secondary markets now to drive the price down.

Or they announce a proper deluxe Rodimus at Botcon/SDCC this year to lower interest for the Cloud figure.

    A $100-$250, 2015 toy is better then a $10, 2006 one? Rubbish.

Isn't the fact that Roddy got a MP release enough love?

It actually went for $260. I was winning bidder for three days with a max of $255 and someone sniped me.
