Yeha that's a good point. Axiom Nexus isn't as popular compared to TFA, Beast Wars or G2.

That would be the ultimate dick move.

 

Not to mention Animated has the most potential for repaints and retools, you can make so many characters out of the base toy line molds with just a new head and a new paint job. Had a recent idea about an Animated DJD set they could do. Vos out of Blurr, Kaon out of Prowl, Tesarus out of Soundwave, Helex out of Bulkhead, and Tarn out of either Sentinel Prime or Swindle.

And actually I'm still holding out some hope for an animated mold being used for a souvenir exclusive this year, I mean the setting is Axiom Nexus so there is a possibility there.

We already know it's legends Swerve, and looks to be blue and gray. The rumor is he's going to come with a new pretender shell and be Oilmaster.

The actual toy was shown by accident (at least the inner robot if he's getting a new Pretender shell...and really with them showing a legends scale figure as the grande finale all signs point to yes because they have said they were doing something major...and so far we really haven't seen anything that qualifies as 'bigger then giving last year's Scorponok a headmaster") when Pete was on a podcast and had his camera aimed wrong. The date hints point to Botcon when the prototype for the unproduced Pretender Oilmaster was shown.

It's been posted quite often in the "Botcon boxset hints" thread. The pretender shell and Swerve show up in the leak photos and the numbers on "The Bounty Hunter"'s image on the botcon website relate to Oilmaster, who mind you is a bounty hunter. That and every other prediction so far has been right, I doubt they'd be wrong about Oilmaster considering the information given.

Oh by the way, Botcon's twitter page updated promoting the fifth and final reveal as well as letting us know package pricing and other information will be released this week.

 

Pricing info will be cool...I can start preparing for what I'll want...

 

Well now, more good news.

Apparently the final video is done with and will be online early, Monday at 11:30am EST.

Can't wait to get a good look at Oilmaster.  

Would be nice considering June is fast approaching. Though I am dreading what the increase will be for this year.

 

I would probably want this set just for Megatron and Battletrap.

 

No kidding. Hard to believe that not even 5 years ago, in 2010, it was "only" $305. Then we got a couple of years of $25 increases, then last year's went up $30. This year will probably be $425 at least - unless they've finally put a stopper. Primus is getting pretty crazily priced.

 

Man you've got higher hopes than I do, I'm expecting $470-$500 due to all of the little extras they're throwing in. The Microns, target masters, the use of the Breakdown mold, and what I'm assuming is a completely new Pretender shell. All those goodies can't be cheap to make, which means they really won't be cheap to buy.

Fingers crossed they keep it the same as last year, I'd be pretty happy with them using the price tag I've been using as a placeholder in my Botcon budget plan.

 

On the "cheaper this year" side - there's no Universal park.
