It's more of an assumption at this point. Plus I can only imagine how pissy people would get if Hasbro just used a bunch of existing characters for this combiner, something they'd probably try to avoid.

Not confirmed, but they did have us vote on a color scheme. If they're existing characters, they're not going to be the right colors. Much like all the orange on FOC Ruination.

to be honest, the only way I am buying this female combiner is if its existing characters or characters that appear in the cartoon and soon. My daughter is only interested in those two things happening. She doesnt care about the comics .

 

Holy crap... Does no one know how to read? (or at the very least a good number of you have horrible memory recollection) YES! THE ENTIRE TEAM WILL BE COMPRISED OF ALL NEW CHARACTERS! Every single one of them. This WAS confirmed before voting ever even began.

It is quite literally the entire point of creating a "fan built bot" to create new characters based on fan voting. Granted to voting itself was more focused on the combiner, but we where assured that the individual bots would also be new characters.

For example, do any of you actually consider Optimus Maximus or Galavtonus as new characters? Optimus Maximus does not for me, and Galvatronus hardly qualifies.

Most likely the development team will fill in the blanks using the info that we voted on. Autobot females from the Sea of Rust using an orange, white, and blue shared color scheme who all combine into a bot named Victorion. they would probably take the vehicle modes into account as well, which i don't think have been revealed yet.

all that beaing said, i would not be surprised to see the re-use of some random place holder name rear their heads on one of the members if not more, having the same name does not automatically make it the same character. Energon Strongarm is in no way RID Strongarm, to use a more current example.

 

i hope the story they first appear in has them slowly assemble, rather than have them already be a team

 

They haven't announced that yet. Because it's gonna be a voted color scheme, I doubt it'll be existing characters.

 

Orange, white, and blue... it was announced IN the App... We literally know everything about this character aside from the molds that are going to be used, and the names of the individual characters. I mentioned this all, 2 posts up.

My biggest concern is that I will not be able to find all of the bots. I hope they are all released in one wave and I can preorder the whole thing form an etailer.

3. I am only interested in fembots for my daughter and she only wants people in the cartoon so I don't exactly spend lots of time here .

I took it more as a reference to another kids show "Victorious" the Victoria Justice live action sitcom thing, that pretty well falls into much the same target audience as actual Transformers Toys. (Sadly we all here are not the actual intended market for anything except the MP line. We are the old farts.)

And Victorion isn't bad. It plays off Victoria, Victory and by name alone seems to indicate a sense of equivalency to Superion. That's actually quite well done.

 

Victor can also be a guys name which is why I don't think it overly screams out "Hey I'm a girl!" also I think it's stupid when they use human names on robots. I doubt they based it on Victor or Victoria. I'm totally expecting some steam punk fembots.

huh... not there. i could have SWORN it was on the app after whatever the voting round that was after it was. im almost positive i saw it somewhere.

that or im just going crazy. If thats the case then my bad.

(i also wouldn't put it past hasbro to decide that none of the color schemes that we where allowed to vote on ended up not fitting where the project was going on their end and they scrapped it all together. I know thats what they did with Windblade and her origin, i think she was supposed to be from the sea or rust as well or iacon. but they scrapped her voted origin entirely and went with the Caminus route.)

 

Yeah it's kind of integral to the fan built bot system. The point is to create new Transformers than the fans want, it doesn't make sense if they aren't new characters.

Well, it already looks like the fiction is scrapping Victorion's nemesis. I really doubt the IDW books are gonna make Cyclonus into a mind controlling combiner guy. Originally it wasn't a problem because Victorion wasn't going to be in the comics but that seems to have changed.

 

I'm all for the female combiner and all that, sounds cool. I still think the USAtoday article went a bit overboard with the female audience thing. From what I can see, it's less females demanding representation and more male fans (though not completely) wanting more female characters. But hey, PR and all that stuff.
