Yeah, which is one reason why I've never felt shelfwarming is a reliable indicator of how a character is doing.

I was sceptical at first that Windblade would appear but glad she does indeed. I'm be really curious how the Warrior class toy is going to be.

Yes. Because 30 years of mostly male robots is totally fine and dandy, but god forbid we get more than two fembots in one year. Because acknowledging that 50% of the world and like, 30-40% of this fandom exists is pandering.  

 

I'm usually a completionists with most lines but RID's toyline for the most part has been too mediocre for me bother with the entire line, so far I only have Strongarm and Steeljaw.

Who did you have in mind for her voice?

Slipstream is essientially a female Starscream clone....and besides we have a Slipstream in the show...one of Drift's minicons.

I highly doubt it but I want a good warrior figure if they can.

Somebody... younger I guess. This voice, well-performed as it is, is fairly generic, and doesn't tell us much about the character beyond the aggression we're already seeing onscreen. If she was the sort of "babe in the woods" character the IDW version is, she should sound different, and if they're going to make her, for lack of a better term, foreign, I think her voice should reflect that as well.

 

I love how if anything ever is targetted towards a demographic the person's not a part of, they say the creators are "pandering."

I agree, her voice is far too generic. But Bumblebee aside, I feel like a lot of RID's voices are.

Really elita-1 they will never bring her back she was never seen after generation 1 animated she was mutated and ROTF she got killed and if they did they always give her some stupid ability which nearly kills her NO

 

Now I just might have to watch this show.

She wasn't even released in my area. I had to buy her on line. That's how I've been buying most of my transformers lately. We don't even have CW figures yet and my Walmart only sells titan class figs.

I'm actually hoping she's just a cameo like Drift and Jazz were.

No offense but she comes off as WAY more badass than the IDW-version of herself that she's likely to overshadow the whole team if she stuck around. After all, who's going to pay attention to the bumbling teenage-duo (Sideswipe/Strongarm) or care about their development if Windblade was just being awesome all the time.

Same reason you didn't have Jazz or Drift remain as a part of the team. So I'm hoping this remains true here too. Also goddamnit where's Sunstreaker? Is he ever going to get any love in the mainstream shows?

 

Not at ALL suprised that a character NAMED Windblade is on the "kids" show.

COMPLETELY STUNNED that it's ACTUALLY WINDBLADE, comics-accurate and all. I think this is a FIRST for Has/Tak. Wow.

Am I the only one here who feels that Windblade's design for RID15 isn't that well thought out? I mean yeah she strongly resembles her IDW design but honestly that's the problem. It's too much like the IDW design only simplified with her deco being slightly different. It's like the designers didn't even try to make this version of Windblade stand out visually and be her own character besides being another version of her. Homages are one thing but if you're going to base a design off a previous design you should also try to add somethings new to make that design stand out .I'm not sure if her status as a fan created character allows her to get away with it yet but all the same this is just lazy. People may hair on how RID15 Gridlock,Drift and Sideswipe look but at least they look different and looking like their own character despite evoking the G1 versions perfectly clear.

 

Yeah I can see what you mean. I usually read Windblade as Kari Wahlgren in her Saya from Blood+ in particular which is a lot lighter.

then again also we only have that one clip. We really need to see a more friendlier non hostile clip before we can really judge.

I'm shocked Elita-1 never gets used like ever....not even in IDW. She's supposed to be Optimus's female counterpart yet at best is a Lost Lenore.

From what I've heard Elita 1 in the Covenant of Primus book was among the council of Cybertron during the early years of Cybertron before Sentinel took charge so maybe she'll be referenced and show up somehow?
