In all seriousness, that's an interesting point. Are the two companies truly different? KFC and XT? I've considered them one and the same....perhaps rashly...
Then there's ollie...who is very KFC-esque in all but the reissue.

Botcon is going to be really close to me this year, I'll just hold off and hope I can find a v2 there. Is there a way to tell from the package it's a v2?

Alright, now down to business. The paint that is used on transistor is a 2 part paint. It's red plastic with chrome silver paint and then red metallic on top of that. The red is what flakes off in "high traffic" areas leaving the bare silver behind. Since I have a spare arm and a TON of hobby paints, I went paint matching for you guys.

If it hasn't been already said, the perfect touch up paint for the red paint is Model Masters Stop Light Red Metallic. It's a transclearant red metallic paint, just like what is used on the figure already. You want to apply it thinly, for a large chip you might need 2 coats, but it's PERFECT. Reds are a pain to match, and this is a closer match than I've seen in most automotive touch up paints. One little jar will fix any chipping he will ever have.

 

Fuck. I'm waiting for Transitor to ship with apollyon, but when it comes in hand, thanks for the tip on the metallic paint.

got my transistor the other day! No flaking on him but he came missing an index finger and the left leg panel is warped and when pegged in will not sit flush on the leg

Hifi's white paint is put on thick. he isnt sticky though

 

Some quick pics I just took with my phone. He is one of my favorite mp style toys that I actually enjoy changing around. Reminds me of the cartoon and his hands are great.

forgive my ignorance but im assuming that all of kfc's older casettes work with transistor right?

 

They do, but some are thicker than others, so fitting three into his chest is a no go. Rewind and the Air Dancer cassettes seem thin enough to fit all three. I haven't tried it to confirm, though.

 

Any news on how to get just the scorpion cassette? even a KO?

Which US-based stores have V2 in stock? Toy Dojo doesn't really specify, and Chosen Prime specifies but doesn't seem to have any in stock.
