How? Drift was creator driven, over-hyped and delivered nothing new. Windblade was in response to something fans have been demanding more of for decades, she got a four part mini-series that outsold Drifts and showed enough ongoing popularity to justify an ongoing and now after all that she is being added to the show.

 

Awesome. Now there's a character in this show who actually has a decent toy. I'm a little surprised to find that she actually sounds how I imagined her to in the comic, more or less.

That has me worried. What surprised me about IDW Windblade, and made me give a damn about the character is that she wasn't as stoic as I expected. Plus, if she's anything like Aligned Optimus...

But this has me really excited.

 

I enjoy the article and it's happy to see that the whole fembot thing in the franchise is starting to change.   As for Windblade I dig her voice actress and I'm looking forward to see how she'll interact with the other characters.

However if there's one thing that bugs me it's that her show design is pretty much just her IDW design but with less detail and with tron lines. Maybe this is part of her status as a fan made character and that it's to help bride the gap of her fan status character to a lot of the TF media outside of the comics but still this comes across as lazy and not making much effort to make RID15 Windblade be her own unique character in her own right. If I had the chance I'd make her design different but still carry strong elements of her original IDW design and Japanese elements in it like how RID15 Drift evokes AOE Drift greatly but still manages to be his own thing as well. Still I'm excited to see her on the show and can't wait to see the episode that features her.  

 

"Victorion"... hmmm... I like it. It sort of sounds female and yet has a certain majesty to that name. Many happy returns that the idea is embraced by the collective of fandom.

Well, the Fan Built Combiner ended up better then expected! Outside of Alliegance, I think every thing I voted for won! Yay, yay, yay for a Femmebot combiner!!

Also, RID Windblade looks awesome, albeit I'm actually a bit disappointed how straight her IDW look has been adapted. I was looking forward to a brand new design for the character to match the new universe she's in.

also considering how accurate she is, I'm wondering if her Generations toy is also intended to sub for her RID toy

 

They're probably counting the minibot weapon.

 

Unless they mean she'll have a Voyager, 4 Deluxes and a Legend class figure?

Possibly, I hope she gets a Warrior class figure though, they don't have any aircraft yet from memory and it kind of undermines the whole 'yeah fembots!' thing they are going for if they don't give her a toy in the shows actual toyline to save money. Not in a big way but it would be a bit sucky.

 

Not if we include the Legends toy. Which was included in the voting for the torso.

 

Seeing as how the episode Windblade's going to debut in is going to be written by the same writer that worked on her IDW miniseries I don't think we'll have to worry too much about that since I doubt Miss Scott's going to make Windblade an Optimus Prime clone personalty wise. If anything I'm betting she'll make sure she'll be similar to her IDW version in terms of character.

 

This is great news all around, both for Windblade and Victorion. I like WB's voice already and I can't wait to see how she'll be handled in the show.

 

My goodness! This is great news. I love her design.

 

That's what I'm hoping.

 

Not even a minute of screen time and I already prefer her over Strongarm. Kill off Strongarm and replace her with Windblade, and finally the show will be perfect.

 

I am curious to see how they'll handle her Warrior Class toy since her design's pretty much was lifted straight from the IDW comics and that her Generations toy isn't too complex to transform. Wouldn't that mean that her RID15 toy will be pretty much the Generations toy but more simplified? If that's not a sure fire way to get some collectors furious and call Hasbro lazy and knocking off the Generations toy into the RID15 line I don't know what will.

Me too. Like you I love that her personalty in the IDW comics isn't at all like her design suggested and I hope it gets carried through in RID15.
