    The Expendables 3 - 8/10

It's a shame this bombed because of the leak and PG-13 rating. It was fun....Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson were the stand outs here. Mel is like The Joker here and Ford....
He hadn't had this much fun in years.
    :lol

I also liked Wesley Snipes...his character is exactly how I expected Snipes would be in the movie and I'm glad. :D

Captain America: The First Avenger- 7.5/10

Iron Man 2 and Thor had really soured my mood when it came to this Marvel-thon but thankfully The First Avenger turned things around. This and Iron Man are easily the best of the Phase 1 stand alones. The handling of Cap's origin was great, the cast was terrific, and the movie just just does a good job of giving off that old fashion classic blockbuster vibe. The movie's not perfect and my main complaint was that Red Skull was a little underdevelopd but I can forgive that because the movie does Cap's origin very well.

    My Neighbor Totoro 10/10

Overall it was beautifully done and brings back memories from when I was with my best friends watching Miyazaki films at one of their houses in South Philly then spending hours talking about Bionicle and Pokémon.

Came out in Australia today, saw an advanced screening last night. Had a bit more time to think about it, I think I'll give it a more concrete rating of 3/10.

I'm legitimately surprised the idea of the movie releasing elsewhere before the US did not occur to you.

That is still so damn stupid. WHy are American comic book movies opening up every where but the US first? That hasn't made sense to me two years ago, it still doesn't make sense now.

Hell, we better get Spectre before Europe since they got Capt America 2 first last year.

Anyway, I doubt the movie could legitimately be anything less than a 7, let alone a 5. Giving it a 5, or even a 3, is saying it is on the same level as Batman & Robin, Jonah Hex, DareDevil, Elektra, etc. Hell, that is saying Green Lantern, Iron Man 2, Spider-Man 3, and X-Men 3 were better than Avengers 2.

My guess is money, build the hype by word of mouth overseas first to drive up the numbers for the opening weekend: which is allegedly when studios get the biggest cut of the profits from the cinema chains.

So welcome to the globalization of cinema, enjoy your stay.

    I would dead-set watch Green Lantern and Spider-Man 3
instead of Avengers 2 again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Thor - 8/10

A solid origin film and another excellent Phase One from Marvel. Going in first time watching it, I thought that Thor would be the toughest character for Marvel to portray in live action and get general audience to understand and appreciate; what with Thor being a God (and from Norse mythology to boot that most people aren't familiar with), as well as the Old English dialogue being another major factor. Surprisingly, Thor ended up being the most realistic human story and develops a really compelling family story, as I really enjoyed the dynamic family relationship between Thor, Odin, Loki, and to some extend Frigga. Watching how Thor and Loki start off in the beginning of the story and then develop and contrast one another to the very end was very intriguing. There is a huge cast of characters in this story, from the Asgardians to the humans, yet I feel every character had decent development and fitting roles to play to the overall story; everyone equally ended up being pretty endearing.

James Spader Robot is wonderful, and I enjoyed Godzilla's co-stars as well.
