That's probably one of the more depressing things I've seen as of late.
Although not surprising for Ian McKellan given he's originally from the old theater, he's more use to the human interaction of the art.

Buff on the other hand is just a punk who's trying to sound smart by trowing out some pretentious babble. It doesn't take much to say that, yes, the Transformer movies are badly done.

Lucas has nothing to do with the new Star wars film. He sold it all to Disney, remember? It's JJ Abram who's got the helm now.

And CG or practical, that new Driod still sucks.

I'm sorry, but are we suppose to take him serious? I mean, let's look at his life choices: he's a drunk, he stole a story to make a movie and tried to get out of admitting it, he ran around with a bag on his head, and now that hair cut.

...yes, of course, fandom, let's listen to what he says. He is a beacon of dignity and respect and I totally think we should listen to the drunken criminal plagiarist.

You Know for a while I thought he did pretty well in the role. But, the more he opens his mouth, the more he comes off as the arrogant primadonna he is. He has a lot to learn about not burning his bridges, and treating the others he works with respect. Including even Michael Bay.

Whether you or the director believe in something or not makes no difference. The fact is your a Fuc.... Actor, so make people Fuc.... Believe, and shut the FUc. UP! No body cares any Fuc.... More about your career.

I don't give a f*** about Shia, Bay, OR the Bayformers franchise, so I'm getting a kick out of these replies! :)

... he wants to create a cinematic universe... he can't even create a good Transformers movie! :D :D :D :D

I really don't think you have a right to question someone's alleged rape, let alone go ahead and call them a "**** bitch" for it. Opinions of Shia aside, that's really not something that you should ever insult someone over if you're a reasonable human being.

LaBeouf is a douche no doubt, but then again he's correct about what a hack Michael Bay is.

TLDR, but Shia is right. Michael Bay never developed the character Bumblebee beyond his name.

It makes me sad to think Bumblebee will never again have any interesting depth of character thanks to these movies. He is forever destined to be Hot Shot part deux. A bland warrior who wins battles effortlessly despite no distinct advantages. A vapid excuse for an up-and-comer who you never really understand any reason he is destined for such a role. It is simply because somebody needs to fill it and they want him to be seen as cool. Not because he is cool. Everyone around him is vastly more interesting and talented, yet unable to accomplish anything of significance in his presence.

In this case, Hot Shot part deux isn't a comedy. It is really, really hurting the fiction.

They call us man children to be derogatory but come on he's fine with doing vis effects for Magneto and voice overs for cartoons, but pouts about the Hobbits and Dwarves that aren't there.

Next actors will complain about acting towards the cameras they might want people to start sketching them so they can make flip books instead.

If you think your head is too big for the script you read don't audition and don't get your agent to work countless hours brokering a binding contract to do the work then cry about it.

This thing about 3-d and technology is old if you don't want to watch a modern movie with realistic looking action sequences that are better than any practical effects could ever do go watch a play, I like when movies use a mix like in Jurassic Park and such but it just doesn't work for some things.

Bumblebee, to me, should always be the every man underdog who's bravery puts raises him up despite all the obvious physical disadvantages presented to him. That's why little VW Bug Bee will always be my be. The weakest Autobot, who still risks his life for his fellow Autobots and friends. Often failing, but still giving it the ol' college try.

    Shia

I know there is alot of haters. But, I like him in fact I wish theyd bring back & all the characters from 1-4 but giving Marky Mark & his annoying daughter a very small role. (since shes legal now maybe a scene while shes in a bikini =) I liked the Australian girl from the 1st one and Anthony Anderson, John Turturro is always awesome whatever he does, and I enjoyed Stanley Tucci. Never liked Tyreses' character but Josh Duhamel would be cool as well. And yes, bring back Megan Fox, she practically was the 100% reason teenage boys watched the movie a 2nd time =). But ya and I like Hound just please tone down the goofy (really not even funny) behavior. I want Cup! I want a pink car Arcee/or Cybertronian style! I want Hot Rod, I want Ultra Magnus! lol but I really hope an astroid falls right on top of Bay and the entire writing crew for AOE. Then a new group would have to come in.

    :lolol

Except Hot Shot had a personality and character...like twice in Armada and Cybertron. Sure he is of the reckless young brash kid appeal character but he does mature and become a pretty solid leader in the end.

Can't disagree with this. I think he's right, ultimately, but it doesn't make him any less of a douche. But hey, sometimes idiots can say smart things and vice versa.

Oh fuck yeah, I can't believe I forgot about that.

I'm taking anything with actual mechanical engineering behind it, even if it is essentially a ball.

If we're talking about how Bee is being handled in the movies alone that's understandable but shows like TFA and RID15 as well as IDW still manages to give Bee more character and personalty despite the movies influence on them so I wouldn't say every version of Bumblebee is affected by the movies in the worst way possible.

For some reason I am reminded of Sir Alec zguinesses constant complaints in public about all the unbelievable and totally unrealistic nonsense lines that George Lucas made him say in the Star Wars movies. He hated every word of it. He made it clear to fans and the audience that he would much rather be doing Shakespeare. Somehow the irony was completely lost on him that Shakespeare was the Star Wars nonsense lines of its day. Penny Dreafuls for the masses. The theatrical equivalent of summer blockbusters.

It also never clicked with him that those unbelievable nonsense lines of his would be some of the most remembered lines in his arts history. Lovingly memorized and quoted verbatim by 4 full generations of fans now. Tens of billions of people the world over. Yeah a few thousand people may have loved Sir Alec's Hamlett, but billions can quote "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy."

Granted "LaBeef" is no Alec Guiness and I don't think anybody has watched any Michael Bay Transformers movie and remembered any single line of dialogue that wasn't delivered by Peter Cullen. Well I mean they certainly haven't remembered any other lines in a good way. I know I considered using a power drill to try and erase any lines spoken by the parents in those movies permanently from my brain.
