Generation 1, Being born 1980, Optimus Prime was the first of a few i got when i was little

 

I was a G1 kid like many others, but it was BW and G2 (and most good toys since) that brought me back.

 

First of all, nice sig!

Secondly, I grew up with G1. It's still my favorite Generation. I was 5 years old when they came out.

 

I'm 31 and grow up with G1. I remember when I saw the G2 Prime later and I stayed totally shocked, I thought "hey what the hell is this shit, is a copy or a joke?"  

 

G1 all they way... Now with the movie, my tf interest has awaken again  

 

Was 7 when BW caught on at our school, still love that series above all else  

 

My Generation woukd be The unicron Trilogy although,I started to Collect in Energon,I really became a Fan from Cybertron but G1 Doesn't Suck,I Love it to bad I don't have any Reissues 

Hence why Most of my Collection is from Cybertron!

I really want Armada Unicron and Reissue Soundwave alot too!

I like Crosswire,Optimus and Skywarp(Too Bad I only own The Cyb.Version)

 

Same here, except I'm 34 this year. I do wish I'd picked up more G2 though; I've come to appreciate them a lot more over time.

 

I was born in 81 so I managed to get some G1 toys right around the time the show aired in the UK around 84/85, I had Powegide first (because he was cheap and we didn't have lots of money) . I was way into the cartoon before I was into the toys. We would take our toys to school on toy day I remebr seeing some kid with Astrotrain and Triggerhappy..I onlty ever had Minibots so I was really jealous, but happy when he let me play with them. I vaguley recall some kid bringing in Metroplex when I was about 7 or 8.

G1 is the geenration I grew up with but I like all the shows in their own way. I've neevr been big on the toys, not until Classics came out, classics combine my love of the show with near show accurate bots to Alt modes. The G1 toys were cool when I was small but now they don't do it for me as they aren't show accurate.

I'm a picky collector.

I was brought up with Beast Wars.
for Birthdays I asked for Beast Wars, for Christmas I asked for Beast Wars, I spent all my Money on Beast Wars.
Christmas of 1999, Poundstretcher started stocking Skorponok, Inferno and Polarclaw, got them all as gifts.

Then I moved on to Beast Machines, I bought 2 toy's from Beast Machines, Tankor(mega) and Scavenger. Watched a couple of episodes at my Grandma's house via her SKY box.

I skipped RiD as I didnt have SKY, and RiD was showing only on Fox Kids/CN.
Skipped the Toyline, as I had no idea what it was.


Fast forward a few years.
GMTV starts to air Transformers Armada, Watched the first 13 episode, then it got dropped after that.
Bought most of the Toyline released over here, remember Sulking because I got Scavenger instead of Starscream. Bought most on impulse (Hot Shot, Cyclonus, Demolisher, Sideways, Smokescreen) and then in 2004 I bagged Powerlinx Superbase Prime.

Fast forward a year or two, The Energon Toyline is over, I bought nearly all the deluxes released over here, Excluding Hot Shot and repaints. Bought Tidal Wave, No Leaders, No Megas etc. Got My first Terrorcon, Cruellock, followed by Battle Ravage.
The CITV channel buys the rights to show Transformers Energon, which I watch religiously. Record all of, which prompts me to go after toys I missed, i.e: the exclusive Prime + Megs 2-pack. Home Bargains imports Overseas stock of Energon Downshift and Towline, and my collection powers on.

Then CITV gets Cybertron, which I also watched religiously, but had already watched most of via TVNihons GF subs.

Bought GF Demolisher at Christmas 05, followed by Live Convoy.

Went to Argos the day they started selling Cybertron stuff, and picked up Crumplezone and Snarl, followed Shortly by CYB Thundercracker, Dirt Boss and Landmine from TRUs 'buy 2 get 1 free sale'.

Returned to Argos 2 weeks later and bought Vector Prime, and bought CD Hot Shot via Ebay.

Ordered GF Backguild from online retailer 'Neon Martian' and then went after CD Red Alert.

Tescos offered more for sale, so I bought Sideways, Overhaul and Scattorshit.
Won a huge lot of Cybertron and GF stuff from ebay, including GF Vector Prime and Starscream, and CYB Megatron and Soundwave.

Collectormania 10 gave me a chance to add Nemesis Breaker, Shortround and Unicron to my collection, and a few days later, Woolworths provided me with Excellion.

Christmas 06 and I buy myself GF First-Gunner from Ebay, to complete my Vanguard Team.

A short while after and I treat myself to Yellow Scrapmetal, and CYB Undermine from Ebay.

Classics rolls around, and thanks to Triformis, I quickly aquire Astrotrain and Starscream.
Argos begins to sell Classics, and I bag the 'Ultimate Battle' set.
Few Weeks later, I add Rodimus to my collection, then a month after that, Bumblebee.

Few weeks later, I get Ramjet from Ebay, and Mirage from Forbidden Planet, leaving me with only Grimlock, Devastator and Megatron to get.

Popped out in 79. So G1 was my second parents who raised me.

G1, the only one that really matters.

I was 5 in 1988 and could distinctly remember my brother getting that trailer which formed Bruticus and I got Cliffjumper and a Motorcycle which I forget the name of at Target. I broke both in a week. Ever since then I just thought those toys would only be displays for hardcore collectors. Then Classics came along and I was redeemed. Thank you Lord!

 

I was 11 in 1984 so I grew up in the G1 craze. I can remember having several G1 toys even before the cartoon began...Those were fun days...

Born in 77...G1 from the start.

 

G1 baby, Im a 80's kid! I remember coming home from school and Transformers would come on. You know what im talkin about.

 

I grew up with G1 I was 8 at the time so I was the target audience.

Lost total interest in TF, pretty much forgot about it and then I saw the commercial for the premier of BW. I guess TF was still in the blood because I was excited as shit.

G1 beginnings but the beast era is my favorite.
