Am I the only one who doesn't care what happened to Dion. He isn't as interesting as IDW Roller was.

I know officially he is dead but in my neo-G1 collection I go by him being rebuilt just as his self and being apart of the rebel unit led by Elita-One...

 

As a kid I thought he became Ironhide

 

As a kid I assumed he became Ironhide too, or maybe Kup.

These days it's obvious to me his ruined shattered body was only good enough to become Roller!

 

He's dead as disco and the dodo. It's even in his name.

 

He took a desk job mostly processing TPS reports. true story.

But really he died. And lets leave it at that. We dont need to retcon every cannon fodder bot into some super shiny super soldier, Hasbro are bad enough at it.

He went to an energon farm, where he spends his days frolicking in the grass and drinking Nucleon.

and Roller became IDW Roller and then became Tarn.  

But i actually like the idea he's now Roller.

 

It'd be a pretty interesting dynamic for the cybertronian war if now, noone really died, they needed increasing levels of repair, and so even the most minor or destroyed characters were not "dead", but scrap waiting for the day it became worthwhile to fix them, or when their unique abilities are desperately needed once more.

As a kid I always thought he became Ultra magnus, so that's the way it is in my fanfic and personal narrative.

Hasbro says dead.

Botcon says rebuilt.

 

When I was younger I thought that maybe Dion was rebuilt into someone else, like Ironhide or Ultra Magnus. I no longer really think so any more. I mean it's not impossible, but I just don't see any evidence to suggest that he was.

 

Dead, Prime never talks about him again does he even remember?

Did he even exist outside the cartoon and that Botcon toy?

 

He cameoed in TFA in the first episode
