And just ordered Protector of Jungle off of Amazon! With that, I have all the Protectors now. All is right with the world.
Funny, I actually think he and the POS where the first two available on Amazon. Eh, I'll find him someday (not.)
Not bad at all. That's as good as, or better than the price would have been at retail had they been sold in stores.
Behold Toa Kopaka and Turaga Nuju,The Master and Protector of Ice Toa Tahu,The Master of Fire Toa Lewa,The Master of Jungle Toa Pohatu,The Master of Stone Toa Gali,The Mistress of Water Toa Onua,The Master of Earth Toa Takanuva,The Master of Light Makuta,Tha Mask Hoarder
BOXORAK USED TURD POLISH! I more or less rebuilt my LOSS figure around the original set's body, added some extra legs and articulation, and turned out this. It still has the squeezing gimmick, though it doesn't work as well due to the added weight. And it still has the gold mask on its abdomen: Size comparison: Current roster of the Skull Gang:
Welp, I'm officially into this line. My first stumble into the rabbit hole was with Gali and Pohatu. I don't really like the official designs, but that's not much of a problem with Lego's lol So I soon found myself with Tahu, and the Protectors of Jungle and Fire. And just yesterday I picked up the Protectors of Water, Stone, and two of Earth because it has my favorite design Needless to say, I'll be picking up the other four sets when I see them. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do when I have them in hand! My poor wallet lol
Those are really nice! I love the launcher axe that the green one has. Thanks lol. I picked up the Skull Spider set too, but I didn't build him. Instead I used his parts to make a much more threatening adversary to the Toa. Thus I give you: The Queen of Skull Spiders. (I'm still working on a proper name lol) I made her out of two LOSS sets, some limbs I butchered from Pohatu and swords from an extra Tahu to make her staff. On the back there's a spot for a Skull Spider to be stored. All in all I'm pretty happy with her!
Thanks! It's actually a bow, but I see the connection. I thought it was the best choice for a bow, since I couldn't find any other fitting blades.
I also want to build a Makuta to match the new Toa, inspired by his 2001 form, but I'm waiting for the magnificient Darth Vader set to use it as a base. Not sure what I'll do for the mask though, looks like I'll have to paint the new Tahu mask.
So many years later... And I finally have the Tarakava. Unfortunately they were sent built and what's the point of a LEGO set if you aren't going to at least build it once? So the first thing I did was take them apart. And subsequently build the Tarakava-Nui. That is one ugly mofo! But all this teal is simply glorious.
