I think any woman working for WWE who becomes John Cena's girlfriend would be slut-shamed as a "gold digger", by those who don't know any better.

WWE wrestlers are on the road what, 300 days a year? Their dating options are already severely limited by their work schedule. That's why we have wrestlers dating and marrying each other, like Brie and Daniel, or Edge and Phoenix, or Naomi and Jimmy, or Natalya and Tyson, or Triple H and Stephanie, or Maryse and Miz, or Michelle and Undertaker, or Magnus and Mickie, or Matt and Lita, or Punk and AJ (well, Punk and X female wrestler).

 

They should drop the WWE Diva moniker all together. In NXT it is the Womens championship.

Take Paige and Natalya as an example. In WWE we get face licking. In NXT we get great wrestling like the link below.

Triple H has creative control over NXT. If/when he takes over running WWE, we should expect similar stuff appearing on their main shows.

The question is when Vince finally steps down. Which could be decades away.

 

You know what, you're probably right. Any employee who hooks up with Cena would be seen that way, similar to how HHH was perceived when it came out that him and Steph were dating IRL.

If Cena and Nikki really love each other, that's great. I just can't shake the feeling that there's more to it.

 

WWE News: NXT Takeover Specials Will Now Take Place Every Month On WWE Network

NXT Takeovers are monthly now. I hope they extend the weekly program to 2 hours.

 

Agreed on the divas and superstars labels. Vince was forward-thinking about that, though wanting to push WWE as sports entertainment rather than a pro wrestling league also factored into that.

That's also why it's pretty common to have WWE wrestlers address each other by their full names in promos, like "Bret 'the Hitman' Hart, I am going to kick your butt this Sunday!" It's annoying at times, but it helps with name recognition.

I'm not sure if there's any significant difference between "casual" and "smark" nowadays. The information about wrestling angles and backstage shenanigans is readily available online. Wrestling lingo like "no sell" or "push" have seeped into mainstream jargon. Talent are more willing to be public with their complaints about management.

 

I know what you mean. Their relationship seems very fake to me.

 

Triple H has only gotten to where he's at thanks to others. He kissed Shawn Michaels ass and wormed his way into the Kilq. Then leached onto Steph. He's never gotten anywhere by working his ass off like others have.

 

I finally took myself out of the long hiatus by watching a bunch of matches on YouTube, particularly ones with CM Punk and AJ Lee, then found out that they are married IRL. Heh. Punk is one lucky dude.

I may start watching matches with other wrestlers like Daniel Bryan and Rollins. Still hate Cena with a passion but I'll watch the matches that he lost in.

 

I like Triple H as a performer and for his work with NXT but I have to agree with you here!

 

The part that sucks the most is, after he put over D-Bry, and Evolution put over the shield, and Haitch did his good work with NXT I was just getting to like and respect him again, this this crap had to happen at WM this year and just killed it..

 

I honestly think this was Vince and not HHH

 

It's both but more on HHH.
They advertised the Hall of Fame with Macho Man as the headliner but gave the ending to Kevin Nash and the Cliq and then at WM HHH ends up going over Sting with the help of DX.
