Thought I'd share a few pics of my original instructions. Back then I always wondered why the photos and his name made sense but not the toy in the box that I got with them.

Are you talking about the little Datsun z logo on the hood or something else?

 

Back when I was a kid, I thought for the longest time that this was what Bluestreak was supposed to look like. I figured that the cartoon was an animation error and then the comic book messed up too. I'm really happy with my MP Bluestreak I got last year but this version is always what I pictured in my head what he should look like.

 

Does anyone have any details on the materials? Maybe I'm nuts but does he look like he is molded in that stellar blue and only the silver is painted? that would be awsome.

Still can't believe they're releasing Bluestreak with Prowl's face/head. Terrible decision. It wouldn't be that big of a deal except they nailed Prowl's face/head sculpt. It just looks wrong.

 

Yeah, I agree, but I think we're in the minority.   I sort of see why they did it - as an homage to the original toy, which was a straight-up Prowl repaint. However, we got Silverstreak as a Streak repaint, and the original silver toy was a straight-up Prowl repaint, too, so I don't really follow the logic. Leaving the crotch piece like Prowl's is fine, but as you say, that face sculpt absolutely nails Prowl's character, and just doesn't look right on Bluestreak at all - it just looks like blue Prowl to me. Also, Streak's face sculpt is possibly my favourite of all the MPs, so I'm gutted it's not being used here. This has been the repaint I have been waiting for ever since they announced MP Streak, so I'm a bit gutted that it's not what I had hoped for.

That said, I've just ordered it from Kapow. I don't like the use of Prowl's head, but everything else about it is beautiful.

 

I'm still curious to know based on his character card if this really is the Bluestreak we know (Cybertron Unknown). I've got a spare Bluestreak (technically Silverstreak) face left over from that custom I did (as should you ambitron ) wonder if the faces could be easily swapped around?

 

I'm actually fine with the use of prowl parts it makes him unique. I actually wish they pulled an Exhaust and gave him a new name.
