Gotta be honest with you I've always been a Sunbow G1 or GTFO guy but I think this is the first mold that will make me stray away from my less than flexible stance on cartoon accuracy.

This thing is gorgeous, I can't wait for Anime export to put it up, it will be pre-ordered instantly!

 

If something was produced in China or some other country, where US copyright laws may or may not apply, then they aren't breaking legal authorization, and therefore are NOT bootlegging, right?

 

I think this has been mentioned already, but it's not a sure thing Anime Export will get this since it's an exclusive release, and if they do it may be a one-off listing down the line when they purchased something from someone else.

 

yeah, this is Bluestreak to me. I can call the others Streak and Silverstreak if I need to, but this is my Bluestreak. (Yes I have every MP Datsun released so far.  )

 

I plan on treating them as three different characters. Streak, Silverstreak, and Bluestreak. Brothers.

The names are on the boxes  

 

all they need now is release an mp astrotrain in grey/purple

 

IDW should run with that.

A 30 year old conundrum resolved. I remember staring at that picture in the promo stuff and just wondering where is this one. It look stye best! Prowl has gotta be my #1 though, but Bluestreak is right behind him.  

 

Pre-ordered from BBTS. Hot-diggity-dog, they FINALLY made a blue Bluestreak....

 

I'm just dumbfounded right now that this finally exists and by god does he look amazing. Sadly I'm not a uber MP collector so I'll have to pass.

Well technically MP-18S Silverstreak has exactly the same bio as MP-18 Streak, so is the same character. MP-18B Bluestreak, on the other hand, seems to have a different function (Unknown instead of Gunner), so couple that with the Prowl headsculpt he might very well be an entirely new character.


I think I get why they gave him blue eyes instead of yellow (all the Autobots have blue eyes) and I suppose they made his pelvis arrow yellow instead of red to keep the colour scheme simpler. But looking at the photos his launchers actually seem all silver, not white at all.

Same here. For me Bluestreak was always this color. I'd love a nice repro G1 box for him.

It's funny, the regular Streak MP is absolutely gorgeous, but I like it the least. 18S has the sentimental toy connotations from being my very first TF and 18B is what I really wanted and have waited decades for.

 

Me too. This is exactly my issue. I've had a strict toon only character rule with no repaints. But this is so beautiful...

I think it may be exclusive to Tomy Mall in Japan so AE may not get it.

So I have an Ark crew display that is surrounded by S1 characters like the Dinobots. Then I plan to have a S2 display where Magnus is the leader. I know Magnus wasn't around until the movie, but I justify it in my own personal world view by saying that Magnus is a legit diaclone figure that is more stylized like the S2 figures than the movie figures, and besides he was the Autobot City Commander so he would naturally lead the S2 guys.

So I'm thinking Blue Bluestreak can fit in really nicely with the S2 figures, and that way Prowl and Streak will be with the Ark figures and Smokescreen and Blue Bluestreak are in S2, thus breaking up the mold between displays.

Wait...damn it! I've got to stop or I'm going to break down and order this.

I totally missed that - he's got painted side indicators!! Something I wish the other Datsuns had got (ok so it's easy to paint on yourself, but still).

 

Yep just wonder if the final product will have them too, or if whoever was painting this prototype just decided to take the liberty of painting them for once. Mustn't forget the final product won't have such shiny hands or inner legs either, guess they'll just be a blue plastic.

 

As with the other Datsuns and Lambos...I'll wait for the inevitable KO.
