Cheaper US shipping is only true on very small packages under 1 kg. Yes, sending something like that to almost anywhere in the US is cheaper than sending it all the way across Canada. But it makes sense. Shipping it across Canada is actually farther than most places in the US. Once to get into more typical package sizes, shipping to the US becomes quite a bit more expensive.

The main reason packages don't get hit with taces, as far as I can tell, is that Canada Post is massively understaff end, and they just can't handle the volume of packages that come in. So they only flag the really obvious stuff, or pick at random. They definitely don't "process" every piece of import product.

    1. Select Desolator for your "pledge level."
    2. Bump up your pledge amount from $55 to $110.
    3. After the Kickstarter succeeds, PWTToo will send you a message to ask what you want to do with the other $55 of your pledge.
    4. Respond that you want Bloodbath.

(Or swap Desolator and Bloodbath in the above instructions.)

Don't forget to add $12 more to get the Atomic Splatterpus and $20 more for the Tech Drone 2 pack.

Well then, if PWTToo wants to cater more to MOTU wishes then maybe they should concentrate on "drawing" in that public with their drawings in MOTU and other 6" action figure forums.

The most interest TF fans have shown is for the Starscream design (which apart from a lot of repaint pottential also shares parts with other nice PWTToo drawings like Dinobot/Wastelander) as well as a desire for the drones to not look worse than the old toys they are supposed to homage. The drones are still bland and the base SS is an impossibly high strech goal compared to the snakemen.

I don't get the fixation with glow in the dark toys. Are collectors really knocking themselves over to get them?

That's still a tad bit preposterous though. I mean they have already been working on concept drawings, possibly more CAD files, they already have one prototype that's gone through who-knows-but-PWTT numerous refinements/re-tooling. It's not like they just slapped together a bunch of paper cut-outs and said, "this is what we want to do!" They've already invested some of their own money into the project, plus I'm sure they'll, more than likely, invest more of their own, maybe look into loans/grants/what-have-you afterwards, or already. The KS is to help finance any additional costs they believe they can't cover.

My thoughts exactly. The ones that were wanted by TF fans the most were put impossibly out of reach. What were we expected to do, pledge tens of thousands of dollars just to unlock them? The earlier stuff just doesn't appeal to the masses, leaving those who might support this thing for the later figures no choice but to back away. The more I look at this thread and the kickstarter page showing those out of reach figures, the more puzzled I become by the planning of this whole thing.

It has absolutely nothing to do with Canada Post, duty and taxes are applied by CBSA, or Canada Border Services Agency. I don't know where the estimate for $20 came from, but it is wrong. The amount where items are duty or tax-free vary depending on the item, but with toys you can receive gifts up to $60 before duty is applied.

They don't pick anything at random. Literally every item that comes into the country is scanned.

Been monitoring this thread closely. This will long be recalled as one for the ages.

The shilling has reached an epic level the likes of which I don't recall ever seeing on this site before.

Just hope I will be able to buy that BMOG by itself someday. :/

Were Starscream and Grim wanted more though?

I remember more people excited about Stranglehold and Octopunch.

I would be so down for an Octopunch.

I would be all for Kickstarters for each buck and armor set. Have one for the 'Strikes in a few or several months when a painted prototype is available and go from there.

It's so they don't knock themselves over IN the dark. ;)

Knowing Rik and Aaron through TF channels and meeting them in person (Botcon, etc.), these guys have put in ALOT of their own time and money to get to the KS phase. I'm under the "All-in" banner and I'm usually VERY skeptical. This has been my first KS that I've joined. That's how much faith I have in their ability to put out a quality product. I'm mostly in for the Vamps and Boneyard sculpts. The BMOGs are pretty much fodder for me except for Splatterpus. THAT'S a must have. I just hope we see this climb over the next few days.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but while still thinking Octopunch is neat, and personally being willing to buy him, I still maintain putting the strikes or even one of the strikes at the front of the KS would have had this funded already, and on its way to its first stretch. I wouldn't have thought twice about buying two figures, even if one wasn't one I particularly wanted as long as the other was a strike. Right now, I can't even justify buying one. I get that you can't put all of your "money" figures at the front of the KS, but still.

I want this to succeed, but I'm not going to help it by buying things I don't want.

What I REALLY hope for is for them to turn around and RE-Kickstarter this. I imagine that there is a lot of feedback here and elsewhere that could help this succeed greatly knowing what they know now.

Then again, what the fuck do I know. I could be completely wrong.

Well, they already put the money into the Desolataur buck, and the whole purpose of the Kickstarter was to find making the Jetstrike buck. Did you notice that each consecutive figure had a couple Jetstrike bits on it, until by the time they got to Jetstrike most of the parts for it were already made? That's why Muscules, Rawbat and the snake men have bits of Jetstrike in them.

I did not attend to the leg armor being Strike armor on several of those stretch goal figures.

1st figure stretch goal: The lower legs and forearms on Sir Pythanore are from the Striker.

2nd figure stretch goal: Muscules adds the fists, feet, helmet and crotch of a Striker to the mix.

3rd figure stretch goal: Rawbat adds the Striker mace, and the forearm pieces for Astroblast.

So by the time they get Jetstrike they have already made lower legs, feet, forearms, helmet, fists, crotch piece and mace!

Oh no, man, I get it. I see what they're trying to do. It's smart production wise. It's just not going to do the job of pushing me and probably some of the other fence sitters into action.

It's that Jetstrike buck that I'm finding hard to give, as there is no way for me to know that it's going to produce a Jetstrike. At this point, realistically, this may just squeak in. So the 80K goes to producing the minimum figures/stuff. After that...? Will the strikes and Boneyard and Octopunch and any of the others ever be produced/Will they Kickstart again with the other moulds?

At this point, anything shown after the initial 80K has way too much ??? in front of it for me to seriously consider a $300.00 purchase. Even a $55 purchase.

Where I feel bad is that this thing, in its concept, is neat and I want it to make the wins.
