Honestly at this point the only reason why I follow the Youtube channel is mostly due to one who is a far better reviewer and that's the Cinema Snob. At least with Brad Jones the majority of the movies he reviews really are degrading, pieces of dog vomit and he's certainly more original when it comes to delivery of humor. With the Nostalgia Critic, its just him cutting away to uninspired skits that drag out too long or its him acting like a pompous, self righteous prick who acts like he's suddenly more enlightened compared to everyone else.

The nostalgia critic may have gotten his inspiration from the likes of Ebert and the MST3K crew, but those folks actually had some goddamn dignity and they never went so far as to constantly insult their audience. Plus those folks actually got fantastic as time went on, while Doug is merely making himself to be this self centered jackass that expects all movies to cater towards him and this is the same egotistic moron that created that damn song that was all about guilty pleasures. I guess it only applies to what you, the individual likes because fuck everyone else's opinions. You can simply say that you enjoyed the Steve Jablonsky scores and the fanboys will label you as being worse than a fucking terrorist who doesn't appreciate good film making. I guess someone that enjoys black and white monster flicks such as King Kong, japanese original 1950s Godzilla and enjoys the living shit out of Ray Harryhausen makes me such an uncultured swine. God forbid I'd be allowed to form my own opinions instead of recycling regurgitated babble from some proposed internet messiah.

If you want me to get straight to the point, Doug Walker has overstayed his welcome and there are far better critics out there who can express their opinions without cutting away to pointless gags or insulting the viewing audience.

 

You guys do know the Nostagia Critic is a character right? His opinions are exaggerations of Doug Walker's. I like the old format better too, but I still find him entertaining. Not every review is a hit though.

I think Phelous is funnier anyway. I can't stand Blockbuster Buster, but I'll to make it through the crossover.

 

I totally get it. It's not exactly a good movie even though I liked it. My favorite review of this so far is Cinematic Excrement's. He had a lot of criticisms, but he admits that it was an improvement over the other three in the franchise. Even though he was pointing out all the bad things, he was still fair.

I stay for Cinema Snob as well. All of his humor derives directly from the movie itself, and if you don't get the joke, it just goes on to the next one. I also agree with your assessment of Doug.

My problem is that he seems to break character a lot recently. That's why I like Cinema Sins. They never break character, so most of the nitpicks just come off as a joke.

This drama involved with the Nostalgia Critic, I can't stand it.

I do agree the skits are unwelcomed and I wish he'd stop...because truth be told his editorials I rather like.

Internet reviewers in general need to stop with skits and just be honest about their feelings.

AOE is not really a good movie, but i think he goes overboard with Bay hate.
