I think they said 78 episodes or something along those lines. It's gonna be 3 seasons just like basically every other TF cartoon.

TFans are flip floppers. Will hate it when we see it, then buy/watch it up when it's available.

Then be like "now that I have it in hand I like it" blah blah.

I really don't mind the animation style. That is not a defining factor for me to like a show! So far looks funny which I enjoy and I would like to see how things go

after Transformer Go... i rather if they give it to Studio B then to give to back to japan... maybe we will finally see some MLP crossover and indirectly the end of TF fandom because most fans die from raging too hard from Pinkie throwing a welcome party for the autobot.

Why would anyone want a My Little Pony crossover with Transformers? They have nothing in common.

Except Megatron apparently loving the show for some reason.

Transformers had a crossover with Mars Attacks and Cthulhu.

I mean, Hasbro owns both MLP and Transformers. That's good enough reason, if ya ask me. Go nuts.

since when do you need a reason to do an epic crossover? if they really do, money would be a good reason.

there is no downside to a transforming ponies, TF fans would still buy, they may hate it, they may rage against it, but they'll still buy it in the end and the bronies would also buy them simply because robot ponies.

How can a crossover with MLP be epic?

MLP and Carebares would fit together.

Never heard of this supposed "Cthulhu" crossover, but the Mars Attacks crossover was mainly an IDW one-shot deal (not to be confused with the multi-title crossing dimensional zombies or whatever nobody liked) along with a bunch of other nonsensical pairings like Popeye, KISS, and Zombies vs. Robots - all of them titles published by IDW with the intent of promoting the actual Mars Attacks! comic they were starting up at the time.

The actual TF vs. MA! comic relentlessly parodies the original Sunbow cartoon's flaws and stereotypes, which is the only reason the one-shot crossover works - things happened in the Sunbow cartoon spontaneously and without reason all the time, other space aliens showing up declaring war on both Autobots and Decepticons in addition to the human race is effectively par for the course in that scenario. It's not a crossover meant to show why crossovers are a good idea, it's a crossover that parodies both properties because the fact both properties were not exactly known for their stellar writing makes a silly crossover perfectly suitable for them.

Which is exactly why MLP and Transformers will never, ever be able to crossed over. Combining two franchises in a crossover without it being meant to be non-serious from the outset (meaning the actual idea of a crossover is the biggest joke of all) only can work if both series are very similar already, I.E. Batman vs. Judge Dredd or, more appropriately; the numerous times GI JOE and TFs have crossed over. Both are essentially toyline-driven franchises aimed at boys around the age of ten that involve soldiers and vehicles fighting a war against the unspeakably evil (but also similar in the general aesthetic of toy design) other side.

My Little Pony is a girls toyline. And until G4's advent in late 2010 was the textbook definition of what the opposite of Transformers/GI Joe are meant to be. And as far as both the profit numbers and Hasbro's executives are concerned, it still is, as a business has no reason to alienate one or both of the receptive target audiences by combining it with the franchise meant to be completely disimilar in every way.

Hasbro would lose money. Period. They tried crossing over with far more similar properties - Star Wars TFs and later Marvel TF's - and both lines ultimately were not sustainable, Marvel Crossovers had to be cut so early that some existing toolings were reused for Iron Man-themed releases in the IM2 line. Nobody outside of the TF fanbase would know the Iron Man Humvee figure was originally intended to be The Punisher, with the only evidence being that the giant gun was retained while all else was tooled off.

Um, not exactly. Some people are really sore over the fact the teams are all missing a member - Slingshot, Wildrider, and Groove not being useable as a limb - and were replaced by generic characters to whom they have no attachment to.

And Devestator is anything but overwhelmingly praised at large - half the Constructicons are severely lacking in terms of believable elbows and one of them (Scrapper?) outright doesn't have elbows.

This is just pure, personal speculation, but from my observations of the crossover phenomenon all over the internet, the idea that everything can and should be crossed over boils down to one concept. This concept being that if Franchise A is super cool, and Franchise B is super cool, then logically Franchise A + Franchise B = Crossover C, with C being exponentially cooler than A or B by themselves.

Often, this idea is made without any realization that in order for a crossover to work at all, much less work properly if it's meant to be taken seriously, the combined franchises have to all be at least relate able on some level. You can't just take two things you like seperately, throw them in a blender, and expect the result to be instantly awesome, they need to work together in the first place inherently or have a common focal point that can make the crossover work. Ignoring this is no better than trying to shove a square peg into a round hole.

However, in the interest of moving this back on topic, trying to make things work in ways they simply can't is a bit similar to hoping that a series you don't like fails so something more to your likeing is put in its palce. In both cases, they're purely products of one wanting to simply make something that would above all else interest them and them alone. Either making a crossover between two unrelated franchises or thinking that this new TF series ultimately failing will garuntee something better in the next iteration, such ideas are happening because of a focus being placed exclusively on the vague ideas of wanting more of the things one wants or trying to replace what they don't like with something they would think is better.

Rescue Bots/MLP. Non-serious from the onset. No changes needed to the characters or tone of either show. Animation could even stay relatively the same.

Not saying such a crossover would ultimately work financially, but both shows are similar enough, aside from their demographic, ie, boys vs girls.

To be fair, I don't know if they outright say Cthulhu...but they do say the Lovecraftian monsters and deities. I think it was the Elder Gods, but I'd need to look it up.
