perhaps these epsidoes were aired...out of order,

Maybe Collect em all was SUPPOSED to be Episode 9 and these two Episodes were made to be before it.

Strongarm jumps the gun about Grimlock and feels like the team doesn't like her so she tires to make up for it.

After screwing up the rules she goes back to them because she felt she messed up.

Ok episode, I like that they finally got the hunter working. Springload was an interesting villain, and the acid coating was a nice touch, but did he really have to croak?

And as always, Strongarm really brought it down with the whole quote the rules every five seconds thing. I wish they would physically remove that stupid projector from her wrist so we could get on with her character development already. It's like they're trying to do that thing from Prime where they drag character development out over an entire season, but this show is clearly not built for that, and it makes it seem really forced. It's like everyone's personality, and their relationships with one another reset at the end of every episode.

edit: On farther reflection, it's like they're trying to combine Prime with Rescuebots in all the wrong ways. For example they're trying to combine the very long reaching story arc style character development that Prime used, with the very episodic story telling design that Rescuebots uses. I feel like if this was reversed with a less episodic story line, and more one shot character development it would work a lot better. I would also add a little more of Prime's action, just minus the blatant murder of millions of faceless drones. (Of course Steeljaw almost pulled a Starscream style execution in episode 8 so i can't really complain that much)

How was she quoting rules every 5 seconds? She was breaking the rules this time.

Seriously.. People seem to latch onto something.. then throw a hissy fit about it when it isn't even -in- the episode.

    Aw... that's so adorable... :3

Yeah... speaking of which, did anyone else notice that he smacked his ass while taunting Bee and Strongarm in one of the scenes... kinda reminded me of anime... and it made me chuckle a little.

Personally seeing the background mountains reminded me of Jasper Nevada. Seeing the tombs confirmed that it wasn't but still, pretty nice reference.

She quotes regulations once in this episode. ONCE. In an attempt to stop Bumblebee taking over what is supposed to be her mission, which is against the rules.
You people will grasp at anything to try and bash her.

There just seems to be something off about the character. I can't put my finger on what, so I just assumed it was because she quoted the rules so much. Now I'm not sure.

That wouldn't really work. Grim only started having an autobot symbol as of this episode, as a result of episode 8. I think Strongarm's just having a bit of the same bit of inconsistency/slow development characters like Animated Bee have gone through before.

last time a Strongarm had power they turned out to be a decepticon double agent.... therefore she totally has my vote :p  I think I'd probably completely loose it if in season 2 Strongarm's face get damaged, only for it to crack and fall off to reveal she's really Shockwave in disguise.

In all seriousness though, I don't think this episode is at odds with Strongarm's prior adherence to the rules. In the pilot, she was more than happy to break the rules/regulations when Bee was making his break to Earth because she wanted to go- when it comes to her personal desires she's more than happy to overlook the book. On the other hand, she seems to quote the rules more often as a safety mechanism, either she's out of her element or as a way to deal with people. Is the way she handles the rules hypocritical? Yeah, sure it is, she's a flawed character who due to youth/inexperience hasn't figured out a balance yet and that's cool, its some interesting character depth in my opinion.

As for Bee though... by primus is he a terrible leader in this ep. Like, not even getting into how poorly he acted towards Strongarm, tactically it was a terrible idea to send a single autobot out alone no matter their experience. Sure it was a scout mission and thus they weren't entirely sure what they would find, but with the mission so far away from base and thus immediate back up not an option, it was a poor plan. Not to mention they were entirely lucky the con turned out to be a light weight and not a heavy (or worse, Steeljaw showed up with the other cons.) I suppose Bee is still significantly better as a leader than his IDW RiD counterpart so um... he could be a worse commander but his poor leadership shown here and in the show so far probably explains why a war hero who served under Optimus is still so low in rank even though the Prime movie tried to set him up as cybertron's next great leader.

    That was a Longarm.
Unless you are saying she is both Long and Strong and down to get friction on.

sigh, my bad- I got my arms crossed up. I redact my prior statement as obviously this means she's ShockBLAST in disguise. Also, while I wouldn't infer something as lewd as that, obviously I am implying she is the Longarm of the law

just watched it because most people were/ are complaining about strongarm(SA)

wanted to know how bad she was

SA was mad because BB was being overprotecting

SA thought BB was "quarterbacking her" and doubting her skills that's why she was so adamant to take the lead

SA swallowed her pride and asked for help

as for SA to daydream as "president" that's too extreme for me & didn't like the stunt SA pulled about "striking backup"

    overall the show wasn't bad

I didn't even know people found her miko annoying. I like her and I thought this episode had some good character development for her. Springtrap though was an odd one for me. Didn't really like his design or his character.

Springload. Fairly sure Springtrap is FNAF and... yeah very different.

I got the names mixed up at first too and was convinced they were the same. That would have made things more interesting though!

It's not that that was the only thing she ever did, it's that it's the only thing she ever did that was distinctly tied to her character. I mean, yeah, she was in the background a lot and shot Vehicons, but that doesn't really stick out in people's minds, now does it?

The opening scene reminded me of Jasper. The Denny vs Fixit subplot was pretty entertaining and funny. I loved how Sideswipe and Grimlock were hanging out and being so chummy considering what happened last episode. Maybe they're finally going to do something with the Decepticon Hunter now instead of saying they will and then it disappearing for a few episodes.

Springload was crazy. A great one-shot villain, the best 'con so far except for Steeljaw and Underbite. I loved his delusional obsession with the legend of the Fountain of Energon. His acidic armour was a really cool ability. The end of the episode when Strongarm tricked him by pretending to be a ghost demonstrated a lot of guile on her part and was a fitting way to defeat him. 'Bee's closing line was very funny.

'Bee was just being protective. The reason he tailed her was because he was just trying to protect her self-esteem. Strongarm's development is consistent and makes sense. It's been shown from the beginning that despite her protocol-heavy attitude that she's still young, naive, and childish at heart. She gave up on quoting rules and regulations excessively. Yet, with that gone, when she got an opportunity to go solo her pride swelled up. Her growth is gradual and varied

    Yeah, I see that too.

I think they're not really grasping what the draw of Rescue Bots is and trying to mix it with some of the worst elements of Prime.

Anyway, binged the season. I enjoyed it overall, but it does illustrate for me that the weak link of the series seems to be Russell. He doesn't have a good place in the cast dynamic and the series is better without him.

Finally got a chance to watch this ep today, not bad, Springload was crazy...and funny. It was nice to see Strongarm actually break a rule or two, not be so by the book. Of course, Bee was just being protective of his bots, not a bad thing to do.

Grimlock is really 'the Funny' bot and I like him working with Rusty... at least they accomplished a needed repair while being silly and argumentative. :D

But I had to wonder.... why couldn't Springload just melt the containment box? :lol
