XTB have been taking the criticisms seriously with this guy. people wanted better leg movement, they sorted it, people didn't like the smiley crotch, they sorted that too. They know this is make or break, they have several figures lined up to be released this year, and Apollyon is here to show us what they can do. If they fail with this, their entire line of figures after him wouldn't sell.

Oh yeah, they've definitely been taking the design complaints seriously and making changes when possible, but for QC, we'll have to wait for in-hand reviews. Right now all we have is the test shot review, but that's not indicative of the final product's quality. If they got the joints right, they're golden. That and the paint- if X-Transbots is truly using the same facilities as KFC (which based on the evidence is all but confirmed), then they'll have to take extra care with the paint. That was one of the biggest complaints I saw with KFC Transistor.

But I want it to serve me cookies and milk too, they didn't cater to that!

Just curious - I'm in Canada and I'm wondering if I'll be able to get this without the orange cap on it? I was able to get a G1 Megs and Masterpiece Megs without the orange caps from a local store and I wonder if I'll be able to do the same for this guy, or are the orange caps attached by the manufacturer?

I wouldn't worry about it regardless. Just take the caps off yourself :)

They're being put on with the knowledge that folks will be taking them off, so they shouldn't be too much of a chore to remove.

It depends what you mean by QC. If you mean are they making sure the plastic and paint they use are top notch, then there are no issues there, it was reported from several sources that the plastic quality of the manufactured parts (not the test shot) can be likened to MMC plastic (whatever that means). As for the joints. This is what has taken them so long, it comes down the the tooling to ensure the tightness and stability. They spent a long time perfecting this. So no worries here. The paint has been reported as being top quality, and we won't have a repeat of transistor with it.

However, the validity of these claims I personally can't vouch for, these are not from my sources, just what has been passed down the grapevine from the factory workers taking the pictures etc.

    Can't wait for the reviews.

MMC plastic is very thick, and very high quality. I have the Feral cons and the FansProject LER guys, and though the LER guys are made with good plastic the MMC stuff does feel better and stronger. It's also survived a 5 foot drop test with no breakage. If Apollyon is likened to MMC plastic quality that makes me feel much better about the strengths and durability.

If I wasn't still out because of increased forward leg movement.

Hey man. I guess it's pretty clear from your posts that you're acting as some sort of spokesperson for the designer and/or X-Transbots. I'm just curious: Is this is an official designation, or do you have a personal stake in this project? Or are you just a very big fan of the project, the designer, XTB, KFC, Keith or any combination of these?

Any and all QC questions can't be answered until the massed produced figures come out. We need reviews of those to be sure.

I think wraith is just an uber fan of the project, and managed to get some chat time with a designer. I do that too, but with omnigonix and badcube... Some of us are passionate enough about our hobby to try and get conversations going with the makers of our toys.

And I, and I am sure many others, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for doing so. One of the great things about 3rd party toys I am finding is that they are more open to showing the steps, they actually admit to failings and often try to make things better with replacement parts.

I love Takara and Hasbrow but I've never seen any of that from them. That said, I've never really needed replacement parts from them!

Anyone know how many units will be made? Seems like a lot of manual labor are required to put this together. I always thought it was machine manufactured.

Yeah Wraith is just really passionate about this; it's obvious when half of his post include the same early Apollyon images >XD
Not that anyone can blame him; I don't think there's ever been a 3rd party figure this exciting.

I am just a fan of the project. Speaking with 539Designs was an experience. I am glad that the designer agreed to answer our questions. We got a good insight into how these things work, and more so, how they have upped their game. Keeping an eye on FB announcements and posts is where information is gathered.

Ah, thats good to know. Also remember that this claim did not come from me, the likening to MMC plastic came from Benscollectables.

So take that how you will.
